No groups albums in "my albums" or dashboard even if created and photos posted

Hello,

A user have created an album in a group :

but there is nothing about it in his "my albums page" :

in activity stream neither :

Can you check this ?

Maybe some useful info to reproduce the issue :
album have been created
then photos uploaded
... there were activity stream post for the album like always
then all photos have been erased but not the album
... activity stream post disappear
and then others photos uploaded in the album
... but no activity stream, no album in "my albums page", no activity in user dashboard...
hope i am clear and that help to understand

Hello Loic,

I can't seems to replicate the issue that you are facing regarding on the stream does not appearing when user uploaded the photo. Check my video link here, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-04-15_1810.swf . Am I missing something here?

By the way regarding on your query that there is no albums/photo in "my album page" when you created an albums inside group it actually a normal behavior as my album page only display the album photo that you uploaded inside your profile page, not group page.

Hello,

I am surprised that my album page do not display the album photo that we uploaded inside a group page
for me that not make sense


for the issue, can you please :
- erase the 3 photos you put in the Album test but not erase the album
- then upload again new photos
that could reproduce the issue

For the photo stream issue, I've applied the fix inside your /components/com_easysocial/controllers/photos.php. Can you confirm it for me if the issue is fix? Kindly let us know if the issue still persist.

Regarding on the all album pages issue, I will talk to our developer regarding on this. thank you for your kind understanding

For temporary solution regarding on the All Album page, you can go to your /components/com_easysocial/views/albums/view.html.php and search for the following code:


$albums = $model->getAlbums('', SOCIAL_TYPE_USER, $options);



//and replace it with



$albums = $model->getAlbums('', '', $options);

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

I've modified some of the algorithm to show all the albums that the user have across your site in album page inside your /components/com_easysocial/views/albums/view.html.php and /administrator/components/com_easysocial/models/albums.php. It will show all the albums correctly now. Can you verify it for me?

Do i have to keep those files or will it be included in next release ??


and to go a little bit more further if this subject is part of dev plans now :
i would suggest some improvements to the user experience and centralize the albums of a user :
- stay in this user album page when exploring albums (and not going in album group page)
- list the groups albums in the left side bar like the personal albums
- having a "albums and video page" for the whole site because medias are more and more used that also could be a great entrance for visitors

Currently there is no progress yet regarding on this issue and I will try to push this issue with the release of 1.4.

I have checked our codebase and I believe they are already in the process of improving albums view for the users for the 1.4. Hopefully things will turn out great

Yes i perfectly understand for all albums page and hope you can solve this privacy implications to propose this in the future and maybe a unified photos/videos all albums page !

So i would suggest to first focus on : my albums page... to include there also the album the user have created in groups (no privacy problem - he have rights to see all his own albums !) and being able to explore and manage them from inside personal profile.
What Erzul kindly done for me http://stackideas.com/forums/no-groups-albums-in-my-albums-or-dashboard-even-if-created-and-photos-posted#reply-196452 is working great

Maybe those groups my albums can also be included in the "my albums" module in the sidebar

hope this can be done as a first step
