hi,

we purchased easyblog since you offer the possibility to import data from myblog.

after we installed it we found it impossible to convert since you cannot add a url or anything and myblog has to be on the same joomla installation.

in our case we have our old blog in a joomla 1.5 version on the same domain in a subfolder "domain.com/folder/blog". we want to migrate old data to new site which is running joomla 2.5 (domain.com/blog). how do we do this?

please advise.

thank you,

david
Hello David,

Sorry for the late reply as it's the weekends. You will have to install EasyBlog in your Joomla 1.5 site and then migrate the MyBlog posts over, After that you will have to migrate the EasyBlog tables to your Joomla 2.5 site. To do this please

- Ideally, it's best that you create an export dump through phpmyadmin and export the tables over. Here's the general guideline that you could use and it is also what we used previously when we migrated from Joomla 1.5 to Joomla 2.5.

1. Open up PHPMyAdmin tool that is provided by your hosting provider and open up your current site's database.
2. Make a sql dump for all the tables that has the prefix of jos_easyblog_*
3. Download the .sql file and save it on your desktop.
4. If your new site's database prefix also uses jos_ , then you can skip this part. However, if you are using a different database prefix, you'll need to edit the .sql file that you've just downloaded, and do a search and replace of jos_ with your new database prefix.
5. Open your PHPMyAdmin and this time, open up your new site's database.
6. You should see an import link at the top. Click on that, and click on browse. Select the .sql file and click the run import button.
7. Install the latest EasyBlog on your new site

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Hello David,

Currently we do not support Joomla 1.5 on our latest version as it is already obsolete.

From the thread above, you are migrating your blog to the new website in 2.5, please advice?

Thanks

I have the same issue as David.

Would it be possible also to receive a download link for easyblog 1.5 so i can migrate from myblog >> easyblog on joomla 1.5 and then migrate easyblog from 1.5 to joomla 2.5.

Thank you in advance!
