I have a few things that I am looking for in a template and I would love to use a StackIdeas template and not need a third party framework. Here are the items in my wish list

I would like to have sub-menu items pop up on mouseover.
I would like to easily put a search field in the same place on EVERY page of the site.
I would like to place a small uniform logo also on every page of the site.
I would like to have more positions available than I saw on some previous StackIdeas templates.

For example if you go to my site at https://www.drcarney.com and then roll your mouse over the Menu item Acts (Activities) you will see that the sub-menu items appear. Then if you roll over another sub-menu item like Public Speaking you see that the child items also appear in the menu.

On this site there is also a search field that I place at the top and the bottom of every page. There is also a logo on every page.

This site is now basically a pure StackIdeas software site. But, I have a 3rd party framework and template.

Sorry to be
Thanks for your suggestion Sean We will see if there a lot of user request this as well, we will definitely consider to add this in the future.

I do believe that most of what I want on my wish list is almost available in some of your templates already. About the only thing is the pull down menus that display child and grandchild categories. The Elegant template almost gets there in that when you roll over the blog menu it displays the child menu items. It just doesn't go any deeper. And, it only displays if you are in the blog section of the site. I would like the child and even grandchild categories to display always for all menus.

Both the Echo and Wanderers templates already have the logo area and the search available at the top of every page.

And, regarding positions, I took a closer look at those templates to see the positions. Using the /?tp=1 trick and I do see that Echo appears to have quite a bit of positions.

So, I can almost get where I want already with the templates. I will just keep my eye out every time you do a template and when I finally find the one that can do what I want (or at least most of the way), I will be all over it. :-)

Thanks so much for always considering our suggestions. :-)

Thanks for the input on this Sean. Creating those kind of menus relies heavily on js, and this is why we try not to because our goal is to keeping the template as lean as possible

We'll see if there's a better way of creating such hierarchy using css only.

Wow. if you could do that with CSS only it would be fantastic. I agree on keeping the js down to a minimum.

I love the idea that both Echo and Wanderers would allow us to keep the branding and the search to the top of the pages with the menus just below it. :-)
