We are creating a new site and want to continue using easyblog.

The current site is Joomla 2.5 with easyblog version 3.7.13964.

The new site is Joomla 3.7.4 and easyblog 5.1.10

I tried to find information on your web site about migrating all the posts in our current site to the new site but couldn't find anything.

Can you advise as to how to best do this?
Hi there,

You can follow steps prompted here https://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/migrations/migrating-easyblog-to-different-site

Please give it a try and see how it goes

Hi. The instructions in the link you gave me say this:

"Make sure that the EasyBlog on the origin site is having the same version of the new site. If it not, please do so."

We are migrating from an older version of Easyblog to the latest version. So the versions do not match.

What should I do?

Hi there,

It is required for you to have same version in order to make it works as for Easyblog 5.1, there are lot of changes on the database structure and etc. It would be best if you can temporarily, rename your Easyblog 5.1 current folder as listed below(or do backup/temporarily remove from your), and install 3.9 on your new site then update it to it latest version.

.../administrator/components/com_easyblog/...
.../components/com_easyblog/...

Please give it a try and see how it goes

Note:
Make sure you do full backup on both site in case of any worse case scenario could happen.

If I am going to install 3.9 on my NEW site, I need to be able to download 3.9. But I saw on your web site that you don't provide downloads of older versions.

So how do I install 3.9 on my new site if I can't get access to the download?

Hey Chelsey,

Hm, you don't really need to install EasySocial on your NEW site yet. All you need to do is to export the database tables of EasyBlog with the prefixes of #__easyblog to your NEW site's database. You could use phpmyadmin for this.

Once you have imported these tables, you can just install EasyBlog 5.1.11 on your NEW site. You do not need to install EasyBlog 3.9 on your NEW site.
