first of all I can't rate the french translations as my last french lesson in school was years ago but I'm sure they're doing the best they can.
but now something about your probs and pics:

for the streams with the english "created a blog post" that's for example not a fault of the translators, the blog app you have installed has this string hardcoded in the theme files so the translators CAN'T translate them. to get this fixed download the latest blog app where this problem is solved and additionally adjust the language files (there were 2 new strings you would have to translate manually right now as the translation files at transifex weren't updated yet)

for the time format in your pic this is also something that's coming directly from the theme where translators can't do anything about.

but the biggest issue with the "poor" as you said sentences a small explanation might be helpful:
when you see a sentence like "you like this" and the french (also other language translations including our german one's) might be wrong. that's not because the french translator wouldn't know how to do it right - instead this sentence doesn't exist for a translation. instead in the about 70(!!!!!) language files a translator can translate the word "you" as a single word, then he can translate the word "like" and again the word "this" - all of these translations itself will most probably be right but later these words are combined in the system and THEN you get the bad results you see now.

let me tell you that this is frustrating not only for users but also for translators who put A LOT of time and effort into this but it's nothing that can be controlled right now. however, the good news is that stackideas team already knows about these language problems with combined strings and with cached (in the database stored) entries that are hurting a good user experience in terms of multi-language and will have this fixed in easysocial 1.2. there these sorts of strings will finally be available for translators in a single line so that they can be translated in a meaningful way and in addition these messy looking notifications where some are stored in english and others in the native language will be gone.

no problem at all, I think the translators won't understand this wrong. in short if you want to correct the translations your own in terms of the sentences it's simply not possible right now (that's why I wrote the example with the "you like this") because these sentences don't exist in the language files. what you see in the easysocial stream is not one single translated language string but different translated words put together by the system. so if you would change some of these words to make a sentence look better this would damage other parts of the site where the same words are used.

in easysocial 1.2 this system will be changed and then the translators can translate these texts as a block so unfortunately now we can only wait for the new version.

well, I'm not part of the stackideas team so I can't provide you with an official release date unfortunately. it was planned for december as outlined in the roadmap which you can see here: http://stackideas.com/roadmap/easysocial?milestone=1.2.0 but I personally don't think they will make it in the next 5 days, but we'll see ^^

for the blog app: in the updated version you now have 2 new language strings:

APP_BLOG_STREAM_CREATED_BLOG_POST_ACTOR="%1s created a new blog post, %2s"

APP_BLOG_STREAM_COMMENTED="%1s commented on the blog post, %2s"

copy these to your french language file of the blog app and translate them to french. then clean your cache and re-load the site again, the problem with the hardcoded "created a blog post" and "commented on the blog post" should be gone.

We're working on updating all our translations to be on a single string rather than breaking them into multiple shorter strings. However this update will affect quite a number of translations and we shouldn't be doing it in the existing 1.1 release because this may affect other users who are already on a different translation.

We will be updating most of the language strings on 1.2 instead

Thanks, I have fixed some of these internally already and it will be fixed in the next release but you would still need to update your translations for French though
