Nearly all of the detect my location settings seem to not be functioning. I went to Google and got the following API and then put it in all the areas I thought I needed to but it isn't working. Is this because my site doesn't have ssl settings yet? Or is my browser blocking it?

I'm assuming it is because I screwed up somewhere....

API: AIzaSyCmdEjwBTJyUT17u0KkrHVWL-_p1GiYRlE
Hi there,

Currently, Google have enforce you to use SSL in order to use their Google Locations feature as you can refer below.

https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2016/04/geolocation-on-secure-contexts-only

Thanks for your understanding.

Yep, that is correct Michel. Without ssl, you can't use their API

Seems it may not be working. In "My Profile" it doesn't do anything when I click "detect me location". Any ideas why? It seems to work when logged in as a user under the Search Events area (by clicking Search Nearby Events) but not on the profile section or when someone registers.

Hi there,

After checking on your site, it seems that i hit this http://take.ms/NWnwm. I suspected you have not enabled those necessary API's for your Googles locations. Maybe you can refer here whether you have enabled them enough or not https://stackideas.com/docs/easysocial/administrators/configuration/location-services-settings

If you required more help, maybe you can provide us with your Google access credentials for us to further check on this issues. You can provide us those access on your optional information.

Please advice.

Hi Warith,

I just signed in with those credentials, however, based on your attachment it appears it let you sign in but it didn't recognize your location so it wanted to confirm. The confirmation email it was asking is michel@brookeshiregroup.com.

If there is a better way for me to add you as a user or something let me know!

Hi there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

It seems that you did not enable Google Static Maps API for your current API key. I have enabled it and it should works fine now.

Please give it a check and see how it goes
