Team/All,

I probably am staring right at the correction to this issue but after 2 days I still can't put a finger on what is wrong here:

  • Our LinkedIn App is on Oauth 2.0 already (reference attachments)
  • We are connected to/accepted in the Marketing Developer Platform already
  • Our App Permissions seem to be legit for Autoposting
  • Our App has been Verified to be linked to a Company Page

In spite of this + after revoking the token and logging back in a few times nothing shows up in "Autopost to Company Pages". I realize this has to be an issue with the app config itself (not with EasyBlog) but I can't figure out what it is?

In the EasyBlog documentation I do note that it still references "w_share" requirements, but I thought that permission was deprecated after the Oauth2.0 upgrade? I only find the required permissions for LinkedIn API Social Share/Share to include those permissions that my App Settings indicate have been granted: LinkedIn Network Update Social Actions / LinkedIn Share API.

Any thoughts would be immensely appreciated : )
Do you mean Linkedin already approved your Marketing Developer Program access?

If that is the case, you have to download my attached files then replace into this following file location :

JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easyblog/controllers/linkedin.php
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easyblog/includes/oauth/adapters/linkedin/client.php
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easyblog/views/autoposting/view.html.php
JoomlaFolder/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easyblog.ini
JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easyblog/themes/default/autoposting/linkedin/default.php

Then re-authenticate again (click revoke access then sign-in via Linkedin from your site backend > Easyblog > Autopost > Linkedin ).

If the issue still persists, can you update your site FTP and Linkedin login access so we can better have a check.

Hi, Arlex -

Thank you for the reply, etc.

Well... to be honest we have had considerable trouble even just finding information/details/instructions from LinkedIn about anything lately?! Highly confusing and ambiguous on their part, but...

YES, unless i'm missing something here we are approved in the LinkedIn Marketing Developer Program (it shows under "Added Products" in our App, reference original post attachment: consulted_006). Maybe there's something else we need to do with that but if there is, we don't know what it is and have found no information on this from LinkedIn anywhere. We also have access to the "Settings" for the LI Marketing Developer Program Product as well (reference attachment to this post: consulted_007). Are we required to have an Ad account too?? If so, we have seen no LI documentation requiring it and again, all of the Permissions needed/required for Update Social Actions and Share are already granted to us in the App.

The main indication we have been going on is that we have already been granted all the requisite Permissions for LI Autoposting for Social Posting/Share (reference original post attachment: consulted_005). LinkedIn grants those permissions by way of the Marketing Developer Program, so that's our only other indication we have or know of that, for this App everything should be working. IMHO this still is an issue with the app config itself (not with EasyBlog).

OK I will apply the attached files you provide and reauth as instructed and post back. Fun times with all these Social Platform changes, eh?! (FB & LI in particular!)

As Always -
Thx Arlex!!!

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

You're most welcome John.

Yes, this will be very difficult to setup for those social app like Facebook and Linkedin because you all need to submit this app for review. Last time we did tried to apply for LinkedIn Marketing Developer Program but in the end we still can't get any response from Linkedin.

So we have to wait our customer once their LinkedIn Marketing Developer Program get approved then we can troubleshoot this directly which part is not work correctly, and those fix files as what I provided should be fix this issue.

Update us if you still unable to manage to show those Linkedin page under Easyblog autopost section.

Arlex,

Let me just say that the support here at Stackideas is always OUTSTANDING!

Your updated files work like a charm (at least on the backend/configuration part). I will test some post to make sure it actually pushes to the LI Page from EasyBlog Autopost but the configuration part on the backend works to select the Company Page (reference attached - our App now shows all of the correct Permissions being requested and reauthenticating with LI shows the Pages we Administer).

THANK YOU!!!
