Hi Stackideas Team

I want to sell access to an Easy Social Group with Hika Shop and your Hika App.
My product would be for e.g. "access to Group ABC”
As of now the Hika Shop App does not allow me to put a buyer of a product automatically in a group.

In Hika Shop when some ones buys a product eg “access to group ABC”

They get a mail from Hika shop confirming the order.

I am wondering is it possible to put some kind of generic you are invited to join group ABC link into this mail?

Hi there,

It seems that currently we cant achieved this as those emails sent our are controlled by 'HikaShop' itself and maybe you can consult with them on how to achieve this as this requires customization on both end. Thanks for your understanding

Hi Warith

But some where inside the ES Component I can invites some one to a group right!
I need to test this but I guess I send a link to via an ES mail to some one.
Then copy this link into the Hika mail.

Like it is going to be a generic link right?

If I invite Example One, Example Two etc via the invite friends function in a closed group!?!

Maybe just maybe?

Quite interesting idea you have there Paul.

Maybe you can give it a try and implement those code in this path ..../components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/emails/group/invited.php, and hope this helps you get the better picture on this plan.

Hi Guys

I could really do with a little guidance on this
I am not a coder so I started here in the ES back end:

Components>Emails>Template Editor

And searched for the file

/components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/emails/group/invited.php

Which I found and activated.
The first thing that puzzles me is the description of this file.


“This email notifies users when they are invited to like a page and accept the invitation. “


At the front end I logged in as a group admin and invited myself “Paul David Murray” to the group.

I did not receive a mail with a link to accept a Group invitation…

Please advise what I am missing

I have no idea why this is the case.

As far as I can tell I have configured this correctly and I have double checked the email address in question it definitely works.

Hi Paul,

Currently, those emails are not sent out and only one email sent out. I suspected that you have disabled those user email notifications on user's alert settings(manage Alerts). But in case you just wanted to do some testing, it is advisable for them not to be sent out on real world. It is better to check those emails on your backend only. Please advice.

Ok I think I understand what you are saying.

Greatly appreciated the last thing I want to do is spam 100s of users with test mails!

I went and checked two users:

“Paul David Murray”
and
”examplethree”

It looks as if notifications are switched on in both cases.
I also checked a couple of other random users and it appears that pretty much all notifications are active!

So I need to

a) Check if notifications are switched on for every one. Where do I do this?
b) Make sure that they are switched off for every one.
b) Just switch it on for a couple of test users this is already the case.

It would be great to get this working if only for testing purposes

ps what I would like to test is if there is some variation of this:

That would give any user who has the above link access to the group in question!

Much like a skeleton/master key gives access the holder access to any room in a hotel

Hi there,

Currently, for all user you can simply un-publish those alerts at Backend>Components>EasySocial>Alerts and check for your required alert, then unpublish it by clicking on 'Unpublish email' as shown https://screencast.com/t/4fbAGbOgZCk. If you required to disabled for specific user, there are no other way, as you have to disabled them one by one. Please advice.

I am testing and have done as you have suggested.
But still no joy.

Is it possible that I need to set up a cronjob some where?

Items are now marked as pending. They will be sent when the cronjob kicks in.

Hi there,

Yes you have to configured your cronjobs as i am afraid there are still many pending emails and it required more time to sent all you emails. Or maybe you can click on it 'State' to sent out those emails for you as shown https://screencast.com/t/IbNuyu2pF6JV. Please advice.
