I just now tried to branch a reply as a question on the site (and it also had a reply already). Only to have that one I tried to branch appear to completely disappear from the front end.

https://www.drcarney.com/talk/1287-bone-loss is the original thread. I branched one reply that had also had another reply. But, that second reply did not stick with the branched one. Ouch. Now I know it says that I cannot recover this but I am wondering if I can even find it. I changed the subject line as well to be about "Getting off acid-blockers" instead of "Re: Bone Loss".

I had expected branching the one reply would move it along with any attached replies. But, I see that is not the case. :-)

How can I find the post that I branched in the front end.

I can find it in the back end. unfortunately I am not able to change it's alias. I am also getting a warning message that this message is being seen as spam"

"COM_EASYDISCUSS_AKISMET_SPAM_DETECTED"

I am wanting to change the alias to "getting-off-acid-blockers"

I am wanting to get this discussion to display on the front end.

I am wanting to somehow attach the reply to this reply.

In the future I will back up the database before trying to branch a reply and also won't try to branch a reply if that reply also has replies attached to it.

Thanks, Sean
Hi Sean,

Kindly find my response for your inquiries below:
1. How can I find the post that I branched in the front end.

-> Seems like the "getting off acid blockers" was appear in the front end https://www.screencast.com/t/NnTs7opgp

-> I've tried to change the alias to use "getting-off-acid-blockers" and I'm did not hit any spam error. https://www.screencast.com/t/uRbbps61F

3. I am wanting to get this discussion to display on the front end.

-> This question is same with number1

4.I am wanting to somehow attach the reply to this reply.

-> Correct me if I'm wrong. Do you mean as you create a new question (using branch) you want the reply from the original question was in the new question? If yes, unfortunately it is not possible, as the reply id is dependent to question id

Thank you very much. I am a bit baffled. But, grateful. :-)

Do you have any idea why "Getting off acid-blockers" is showing at the bottom, instead of the top, of this page: https://www.drcarney.com/talk/

I expected it at the top since it is new?

My other question because the "Getting off acid-blockers" actually had a reply attached to it the moment I tried to break off the thread. I had assumed when it broke off that the replies would remain attached. But, I understand now that does not happen.

Thank you very much,

Sean Carney

BTW, I attached the reply to that question by logging in as the user (my wife) and replying to the new thread. So, all is well and we can close this ticket. :-) I then deleted the reply from the thread where it did not belong and sent a message to the original requestor letting her know what happened. All is well.
