Hi,

I defined some additional mandatory custom fields for my users. They seem to work fine if the user is going to maintaine his profile after registration and login. I want to change this that new users are asked to fill them out during the registration process. Where is my mistake?

Thanks for your feedback,

Horst
Hi,

If the field is set to required, it will be required in both edit and registration.

Which fields are you referring to that does not work as expected?

Hi Jason,

I implemented for my motorbike community some additional required fields e.g. the model of the bike....

In case of updating the profile they are mandatory to maintaine but they are not visible during the registration process....

Thanks for your support,

Horst

Hi,

Check if you have the field to display during registration in the field config under the view tab.

Hi,

Please provide us your site's access and FTP access so that we can investigate this for you.

Hi,

It seems like you've set the menu item for EasySocial Unity to "registered" only and this is causing your site to route to the default Joomla's login page because the menu item cannot be accessed by public users, and hence EasySocial's registration page cannot be accessed by public as well.

You can either set the Unity menu item to public, or add a EasySocial registration menu item for the registration link in EasySocial to work properly.

Please take note of the difference between EasySocial registration page and default Joomla's registration page:

Default Joomla's registration page: http://cl.ly/image/1O1T291o3k1z

Hi Jason,

now I placed the Unit Login on my start page, but if I click on register I will be directed to the Joomla Login Page - where is my mistake?

Thanks for your great support!

The only issue now is, that my community activity stream is now visible. Is there a way to get the ES registration workin without setting the ES unit to public?

Hello Horst,

Then you should be setting the privacy for your stream items to be accessible by registered or friends only.
