EASY SOCIAL HELP: Members or staff if anyone has an idea......

Hi guys i know my subscription is not valid but it would be majorly appreciated if you could just help me with one thing

I'm using the frosty layout and it has the little menu that shows like photos videos apps and everything.

And i look at the demo site and i see no where you have component/easysocial/albums its all alias how can i do this ? i been trying everything by doing them as hidden menus with a alias but i cant figure out why i cant get albums or apps or groups to use the alias in that little menu.
See that's what i say by a money grab i paid for the component and didn't use 6 months of support i didn't even use 2 days of support. and you can't even answer me some questions. I just said there is no menu in the menu manager with that number. but there is one in the database. an easy answer would be there shouldn't be one in the database if it's not listed in the menu manager. But forget it Shows me exactly what this company is about. go ahead and lock the topic i'm done. BUT YOU ONLY SEE THEM DOLLAR SIGNS! thanks for convincing me not to renew have a nice day

All you need to do is to create a menu item for "EasySocial All Albums Layout" in your Joomla site and give it an alias of "album". This is actually not an "EasySocial" related question but rather a Joomla one.

Likewise, if you want to have /category which links to a specific category in Joomla, you would create a menu item that links to the respective category.

i have done that it still don't change the url



if i set that it will work to bring me to the albums page.

But that dont change the user albums links or

This is actually how we did it on our demo site and as you can see from the demo site, it works. Perhaps there could be plugins or settings that may be incorrect?

its working for all the others though besides them main ones photos videos apps

To be honest, I am not too sure how to help you here because, 1.4.12 was released about 1 year ago, https://stackideas.com/changelog/easysocial?version=1.4.12 and the latest version of EasySocial is 2.0.21.

I understand that it's a older version but how would that make a difference in why some components within will work with an alias and others are not. Paying another 200 dollars to upgrade the whole package again. for an alias does not seem worth it

To be honest, the purchases made by you or any other customers goes into footing the bills of the servers, developers and every support staff that you see on our forums are paid wages every month.

Nobody is sponsoring our servers and definitely all of the support staffs are not volunteering. They are paid wages at every month end. They will not be answering your posts if they weren't paid wages and in order for us to get this ecosystem to work, we have to charge a retainers fee which is your subscription.

I can't be telling them that Raymond's website is not live yet, so you will not get paid salary until his site goes online (I certainly wish I could do that but all of these are costs to us)

Also, if you haven't noticed, we even introduced bundles at ridiculous pricing, https://stackideas.com/bundles . This is not a marketing gimmick, these bundles are served solely to customers like yourself who loves the software and find it hard to foot the bill renewing each products separately.

you're paying them for supporting others i barely asked anything here. and the things i did ask i can't even see to try and fix it myself. or look at the posts made by others so i don't need to ask anything from support since it would be archived for people who bought the products. that i don't understand locking forums. locking new files sure but locking documents and support for your components seems like a money grab

when i bought the package deal i didn't expect to pay yearly I would like to know why some of these things just break though. Did joomla change the structure since these releases that would break komento ? that would break aliases for easy social. did facebook change the structure so auto facebook don't work ? is there documents where this stuff can be located to see what works what doesn't ?

I would like to know these things. because i could roll back joomla to an earlier version where the products work.

The documentation is not locked. It will still be accessible even if your subscription expires. Joomla did release a new version and it broke things. We needed to update the software to ensure that it is compatible.

Facebook did change the behavior of their auto postings and authentication. We needed to update the software to ensure that it is compatible.

Okay and is their documents somewhere on this site that shows when and what versions stuff is compatible with ? and the documents are not locked but all support posts are locked even my own!

Forget facebook i have other components that can do that i'm talking about easy social being able to create aliases for parts of the component and not others. or how komento just breaks and creates a white page that kills the theme of the website. have not used easy discuss since i bought it so don't know what problems it has easy blog seems fine besides the auto posting feature

Don't get me wrong i appreciate you guys work. BUt i shouldn't be forced into buying the new versions. i should want to. I am happy with what i purchased if they worked correctly. and you can't tell me why it doesn't

Honestly, I have no idea why would the alias not work and I am only suspecting that there was a bug in the older version since it works on our demo and on our local instance.

As for Komento, I believe that it is most likely because of the older release on a newer Joomla version or there are some conflicting plugins.

As a long standing Stackideas member, I would strongly encourage you to renew your subscription so that you can take advantage of the much improved easysocial 2. They even have some crazy bundles now where you get all of the extensions and amazing support for one low cost.

I personally don't know how these guys can offer such a great service for such a low cost but I can tell you that I work with a lot of third parties and none of them even come close to Stackideas.

As I'm writing this, Mark is here taking time out of his day to assist you, a person who doesn't even have a membership lol. I cant think of any other company that would go to these lengths for customers who are trying to get stuff for free.

is not worth a 120 dollar upgrade.

everything else works fine with the component i can post add videos create groups vote in polls all that stuff. i can also add aliases for everything but photos groups and application. Was this evera topic anywhere. i am pretty sure one of your custumers would of reported this happening. from 1 version to another.

That's easy to say pay anothers 200 + dollars for a set of components you bought and never got to set up completely to begin with. i dealt with this with jomsocial as well. start setting it up and by the time your done joomla updates and changes code and jomsocial would change a bunch of stuff and break everything you did. non profit websites cant just go out and spend thousands of dollars on components yearly

There is none that I could recall off but 1.4.12 is over a year ago so I could be wrong. We'll update the forums tomorrow to allow users with an expired subscription to be able to view the forums.

Based on the menu link you have just pasted, I believe it's more of an incorrect configuration rather than a bug in the software because it seems to contain the menu id of 465

I would suggest you to check this in your menu manager. I am sorry, but this is going beyond our support policy and it is unfair to users who are paying for support.

I think your problem is because you have trashed the menu item and this is why it appears on the database and not the menu. So try to filter menu items with the trash state.

I am sorry, but I can't help it if you still think of it this way despite of what I had already explained.
