Hi.
I went to my account and downloaded the Easyblog Launcher and component, and followed the instructions. I thought it was just an upgrade over my previous Easyblog because the toolbar looked out of place after I upgraded my Joomla template. When I started it, I noticed that it was not proceeding, so I thought not to upgrade it. Behold to my horror, when I went to the Easyblog component, it went to the installation page. I was not able to retrieve my old blog files, probably about 400+ or so. That left me with no choice. So I was forced to proceed with the installation and hopefully my old blog posts are still there. Now I face this error "Sorry, there was (were) some errors when trying to extract the queries.zip file. Please contact our support team." Praying hard that my old posts are still there.
Hi Irwin,

Yes, those old post is still existing in your database, because the installation will not affected your data.

Can you provide us with your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you check on this?

*You can put the information in the optional information field below(SITE DETAILS). Don't worry about privacy. Only Support team can view the information.

Thanks Arlex.

Not good. Now I can't even add a new user in the User Manager. It just shows a blank screen after I clicked New. I tried to rename one of the other test users, but they show me a blank screen after that.

Perhaps stackideas should produce something called EasyInstall.

This is getting worse. Backend is really blank. Some conflict I guess. The FTP details are correct.

Hi Irwin,

Yes, I'm still can't access.

Can you enable your site error reporting to Maximum, so we can see what is the error causing this?

Go to your JoomlaFolder > configuration.php > error_reporting - 'default' > change to 'maximum' > save.

Shall I do a server rewind on cpanel?
I'm not sure if that helps.

Hi Arlex,

It is working now. I'm not sure because you did something at your end or it's because I did a server rewind on my side.

Anyway, my Easyblog menu is kind of messed up as you can see in the picture.

Can you help me settle mess up first? I need to do a quick akeeba backup.

It looks like some of the others in this forum are facing the same problem. If you are confident, you can help me to install after the akeeba backup.

Does the upgraded version allow module buttons at the bottom? I did not see any in the screen shots.

Thanks Arlex.

I'm grateful for your help. I hope it didn't cause you too much problems.

The new version has a clean design and looks more professional. Perhaps it matches my website. I briefly tried to increase the height (800px) of the map in the Location Settings in the back end, but it does not seem to change the google map size in my blog. e.g. http://prosperty.sg/blogs/entry/district-8-28-rc-suites. Well after sleeping only for 3 hours yesterday trying to solve the installation problem, I need a rest now so I'll try out the other settings tomorrow.

Cheers.

Looks like there's a bug in the map as it is hardcoded to 200px height. Here's a temporary fix you can apply on the site by adding the block of css codes below,

div#fd.eb .eb-entry-location-map {
height: 800px !important;
}

Thanks Mark.

But where do I add this css script to?

I was trying to disable the author's profile from the blog, using your settings > layout options, but somehow the information still appears. Please see my attachments. Anyway, the hyperlinks for "View Author's Profile" and "More Post from Author" are the same.

Hi Irwin,

I already applied the css code in your template file -> JoomlaFolder/templates/rsjuno/css/custom.css as my colleague Mark suggested that css code at above.

If you want to disable the author profile info from the "entry" view, it will dependent on the category post layout options. In other words, you can have a different configuration for your listing and your entry.

Example this blog post -> http://prosperty.sg/blogs/entry/district-8-28-rc-suites is under `Central Zone` category, so you have to disable the author info from your backend > Easyblog > category > central zone > Show Author Box - Hide Hope this help.

Thanks Arlex.

I didn't expect you to settle it for me so quickly.

Somehow the css didn't do anything to the size of my map. You can see the same link. It's supposed to be 800 pixels in height, isn't it?

I have disabled the author profile and whatever information through the categories. Double thanks.

For posting a new blog, I can't find the section where I need to key in the address for the map for to be displayed on the blog.

Regards,
Irwin

Hi Irwin,

Yes, but it load fine for me, maybe it cached from your browser, can you clear all the cache and Joomla cache from your backend and browser and see how it goes?

Regarding with your location question, I already help you enabled this option "Allow Location Services" from your backend > Easyblog > setting > location and it should allow blogger set the location from the composer. Check my screenshot below.

Hope this help.

Oh. I saw that a few times, but I thought it was meant to pinpoint the existing location where I am using the EasyBlog. That was why I did not turn it on. I was hunting for the 'right' option for the past one hour.

Thanks bro!
