Our easysocial homepage is accesiable only by registered members.

But now, email reset link that comes from the forgot password email, goes to the page under easysocial, which is like;

Registered only homepage: mywebsite.com/network (which redirects after successful login)
Validation link is like: mywebsite.com/network/account/reset

So, this link is not accessible for public and members cannot recover their passwords. And I dont want to make Easysocial Homepage accessible for public.

Regular way to handle this is, assigning this validation page as another menu item, but there is no option to do that.

Now, what can you recommend?

I already manually applied all the fix in your site, and created a few hidden menu item, you can check from your backend menu page and try reset one of the user account from your frontpage, it should work fine now.

Hey there,

There is a simple solution to this and you can just create a hidden menu, and create menu items that links to the reset password layout under this hidden menu. You can set this menu item as public

Hey,

Umm you mean Joomla Default "Password Reset"? I just tried but it's not related as you know.

I look for a menu item under EasySocial and there are only 2 options which are "Forgot Password" and "Forgot Username". I already created a public menu item for "Forgot Password" page.

I didn't created "Forgot Username" menu item because I don't need.

Now, I can't find any "Password Reset" layout under EasySocial.
So, what is next?

Can you provide us with your Joomla backend URL so we can better have a look? because I tried to access in your joomla backend URL, but it keep redirect to your homepage. Please advise.

It redirects because there is AdminExile plugn which is active as a security measure. U need to enter a keyword at the end of url.
How can I give it to u? I guess I can't send direct message here.

Hey,

Yea, as I said I can access Forgot Password page, but the issue is, after entering your email address, you get an reset e-mail with a validation/reset link.

Problem is here, this link goes .com/ag/hesap/sifirlamaOnayi which is under .com/ag (easysocial homepage, registered only)
Its lile mywebsite.com/network/account/reset as I mentioned before.

And I can't find any menu item to exclude this page.

It seems like you still using older version of Easysocial, I've applied some fix in this latest version, can I have permission to help you update to latest version then help you configure these "ForgetPassword/username" menu item?

Umm, So you want to help to update all easysocial folder & files?
Umm I have added some custom coding in some files like registration.php.

Let me take a backup before proceeding,
Another question: Does easysocial default update procedure overwrite all files? or just updated files?

Yes, it will override all the files if you update to latest version.

Hey,

After talking with my manager, we decided to delay the update till we finished some other works. We have some engaging events in our organizations and right now we are dealing with them too.

Most probably We will be able to update Easysocial on friday, or weekend as an extra work.
