Hello,

We would like to have some menu items show up only if the current user is in a given group. There are settings to filter menu items by Joomla user groups, but not by the EasySocial groups.

Is there any way we can set it that I might be missing?

Best,
Jakub
Hi there,

Honestly, i am a bit lost here actually. It would be best if you can provide us with more details on your requirement above. Please advice.

By the way, if you wanted to show all groups based on current logged in users, you can enabled this module http://take.ms/yX2sd and set it accordingly.

Please advice.

Abdul,

Thanks for the reply! Basically, we have a menu item that leads to a simple page page. We want this menu item to be hidden, however, unless a the currently logged-in user is in a specific EasySocial group. The page is only relevant to members of that groups, so we only want those members to see that link in their menu.

You can currently filter menu items by the Joomla user groups, but not by EasySocial groups.

Is that doable?

Best,
Jakub

Hi there,

Oh, i understand it now. Currently, it is not possible to achieve that as those menu are controlled by Joomla and it is achievable if your current Easysocial groups are assigned to that particular Joomla user groups -> http://take.ms/CHlEp.

Maybe you can try to re-assign them again accordingly and see how it goes. Please advice.

Thanks Abdul,

Yes that would work but then we'd have to manually add and remove users from the Joomla group based on their membership to the EasySocial group. Is there any way to automate or synchronize that?

Hi there,

Unfortunately, there are no other way to automate this on current version But we have added this feature into our Easysocial v2.1 https://stackideas.com/forums/easysocial-2-1-0-rc-2 . You can change all users profiles types(Easysocial) and their Joomla users groups.

Maybe you can try them and see how it goes. I would advice you try them on your staging site, as currently, it is partially stable, and might caused something bad to your live site.

Please advice.
