Hi,
I'd like to edit the titles in the News Feed. I've been doing the usual in Joomla backend > language but having a job locating them.

Would you please let me know the best way to get to them?

All of these strings are located in the language file /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easysocial.ini You should search for the text in the language file and replace them accordingly

However, I'm not sure this is strictly correct as I cannot find the text strings for profile etc... Compare stream with profile as shown in screen dump.

You know I've been editing via Joomla language backend and discovered this is not the best way to find and edit these strings.
I've discovered a much more efficient way. Hopefully I'll be able to share it under Tips and Tricks or something like it in the not too distant future

Until then I'm marking this ticket as closed.

Some of these titles on the sidebar are actually module titles as we also render modules on the sidebar Try locating them under Extensions Manager > Modules

Mark, Was my screen dump not clear.

Where on earth would I find a module called "Recent Updates" and I don't have any module called "Groups" or "Events" What would they be called instead?

Where could these be hiding I wonder?

Hope you can point me specifically to where the above are as it's stumping me

Okay I think I misunderstood your "screen shot". For event and groups widget on the profile page they are translate-able via the language file. Locate the following strings:

APP_USER_GROUPS_WIDGET_GROUPS_TITLE="Groups"
APP_USER_EVENTS_WIDGET_EVENTS="Events"

Thanks Guy I normally use the following:

1. Transmit (FTP / SFTP) client
2. Sublime Text 3

Noticing that you are using Windows 10, you could try Cyberduck. It's pretty cool too.
