ED- Notification Module: How to speed up the opening of the drop down notifications/conversation from icons

I am using the ED notification module. On logging in it shows an envelop and a bell icons. On clicking these icons, a drop down module opens. But it takes some time for this drop down module to open. How can I speed it up. I believe it must happen in a js file. If yes, where is the file located and what value I need to change?
There is nothing to be done to speed this up. This request is done via Ajax and if your connection is slow or if there are huge amount of data, it takes a while for it to be loaded.
