I am trying to create a map of an event .. i believe i have all the google map stuff setup correctly as well as https ... when I go to the event in the backend the list will drop down as I type but does not show on the map after i select. I am also not seeing the map on the frontend? i have 1 event at the moment
Hi Steve,
I tried this in the event on the backend and it seems the list does not even drop down. I am seeing this error in the console(http://take.ms/mLE2O). When I try to access the link, it shows this message: http://take.ms/6G5O0
Can you try using a new key and see if it works?

EDIT: You can refer to this documentation for more details on how to set up google maps in ES.

Hey Steve,
In your Google Console, can you make sure these APIs are activated along with static maps?
Google Maps JavaScript API
Google Maps Geocoding API
Google Maps Geolocation API
Also, make sure the key does not have restriction.
If you are still experiencing issues, can you provide us your google console access so we can check it out for you? Thanks.

Hey Steve,
I am unable to view the provided event page in the frontend(http://take.ms/3wejC). Is there some kind of restriction in place? Please advice.

Hi Raymond .. i just pasted the URL into the browser .. .I am not getting that as an issue .. basically if you go to the home page ... scroll down a bit to you see the event .. and click through to the detail .. when I do that I am trying to have the map show on the "event detail" page .. (Not the category list .. but that might be good?)

Any help is much appreciated

Hey Steve,
Looks like I'm getting the restriction error above because the profile type has 'Allow community access' disabled. I have enabled it for now.
You are referring to this area correct(http://take.ms/X5e0u)? Unfortunately, it is not possible to show the map there. We appreciate your understanding on this.

Hey Steve,
You're most welcome.
was thinking on the category page (https://www.nativewoodlandtrust.ie/events)
Unfortunately, it is not possible to display the map in this page as well.
How do I make the event visible to the public?
Since the event is an 'open event', it is already visible to the public. To access the page in my screenshot, you can just click on the 'Event Information' button on the sidebar(http://take.ms/dU7o8).

Thanks for that .. is there a way to have the default layout when the page opens with this information showing?

I am fairly technical if the theme needs to be altered

Hey Steve,
Understood.
You can try using this setting and see how it goes: Settings>Events>Layout>Default Tab>Info
