Hello,
in easy social--> Dashboard-->sidebar there are links "Me & Friends" and "Everyone" and when you click on you can see Recent Updates related to Me & Friends or Everyone.

The question is:
it is possible to create another link like “Weekly Newsletter” that show you only update posted from one specific user as Admin for example? So it is possible to implement custom filter?
Please find example in the attached file

Could you please help me?

Thank you
Antonio
Hi Antonio,

The only possible way is by using Broadcast Announcement features where this feature can only be use by site admin and there will be a special filter called "Broadcast" when site admin posted an announcement. This filter can be used by all users on your site. Refer my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/GbtyVBp5hEQg .

To create a broadcast, you need to logged in into your easysocial site using super admin access and then click on the following icon here in the story form, http://screencast.com/t/NUlPTD8RA .

Hope these can help.

Hi Antonio,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

Currently the only way to add filter is through hashtag function as you can see from my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/tCUnm2a4 and it is not possible to create a filter that based on specific user currently.

Hi Ezrul,
thank you for your replay! Just 2 questions:
- Sorry so there is no way to filter infomation also in the back end unsing "stream" and "Privacy" settings?
Why in tha Privacy rules there is Custom filter as example in attached file? What "Custom" means? Where can I configure "Custom"?
- Maybe I can creating a new filter and using tag, there is some documentation about?

Thank you in advance
Antonio

Hi Antonio,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply.

The privacy rule that you mentioned above is for the privacy dropdown default value whenever you compose a status message from the story form. Refer my screenshot here, http://screencast.com/t/JQx0z1ICnVax . This however does not related with custom filter in easysocial.

Maybe I can creating a new filter and using tag, there is some documentation about?

Currently we do not have any documentation for it but we will add it soon. To create a custom filter using tag, you can simply click on the "Add Filter" at the top sidebar in your dashboard and follow the instruction from there. You can refer to my video link here below for a clearer view.

Hope these can clarify the issue.

The goal is possibility to administrator to post a communication that only him can post and all users can see in an particulary link. It is not possible at moment?

Hi Ezrul,
thank you it seems good but how can I disable possibility to do broadcast announcements for normal user?
I would like that only admin can write post for broadcast filter and all people can use broadcast filter but don't do broadcast communication by using announcement button

Is it possible?

Thank you in advance

Hi,
I need one page where all users can see only what administrator pubblished.
I know you said there is Announcement functionality but it desappears after the first user check and then I woud like to show administrator communicationation.

How can I have a filter like everyone or Me&Partners where all people can see administrator updates and not other posts? Can I disable all stream for all user for example and use everyone filter to do this?

Thank you
Antonio

Hey Antonio,

Announcements also has a stream filter if the broadcast type is a stream. This would be the best way if you want users to see your announcements using a filter

I am sorry Antonio but unfortunately it's not possible to set the "Broadcast" as the default filter currently. If what you are trying to achieve is to only allow site admins to post stream updates and everyone else can just see the stream, this is what you can do:

1. Hack the file /components/com_easysocial/themes/wireframe/story/default.php so that only super admins can view this form.

2. Since only the super admin can post updates, you can just rename the "Recent Updates" in the language file to "Admin updates"

Cheers!

I need one new page where ONLY administrator updates are visible on the page (and not information that a normal user changed photos for example)

For example clicking on the link everyone you can see all updates, there is a filter that I can use to filter just administration post?

EasyBlog is a blog and I am not sure how / what you plan to do but yes, you can configure EasyBlog to allow only admins to be able to post blog posts on the site

Hi Mark,
I will try to explain you better
I would like to have inside Easy Social in the Dashboard a page where admin can post news that all users can see

If possible to do this buying EasyBlog and configure it inside EasySocial?
I saw in EasySocial there is a module to integrare with EasyBlog --> "Recent Blog Posts (EasyBlog)"

Thank you
Antonio

Hm, if that is the case I would suggest that you could either go with EasyBlog or EasyDiscuss but I do think EasyDiscuss would make more sense and it would be easier for you too.

1. Create a new post on EasyDiscuss
2. These posts would then appear on "EasyDiscuss" filters (You could rename this)
3. Configure EasyDiscuss so that only admins can post here.
