Hello,

I've set up an FAQs section on my website where users ask questions by selecting a category then posting their question. I want relevant groups to be notified via email when a new question is asked/reply is posted etc.

In EasyDicuss 'categories' - 'custom email address,' I selected the email I wished to be notified when a particular category of question was selected, but have tested it and no emails are being sent. I then changed this to a USER (ie without the @...) and it seemed to save, but again no email has been sent.

In 'Email Activities,' it says that the selected user email address was sent emails with each corresponding FAQ asked. But this is definitely not the case!

N.B. the field for 'custom email address' seems to default to

It may also be worth noting that this is not a problem with our global config settings, since other applications (EasyBlog, EasySocial) are sending email notifications.

Some extra info in case it's relevant: We have currently set up notifications to send on page load (and are awaiting cronjob to be set up, but we've managed to get EasyBlog etc working for page load so this shouldn't be the root of the problem either).

Hello Rachel,

I am really sorry but without any access to the site, it's almost impossible to tell you what actually went wrong It's actually very difficult for us when we cannot reproduce this issue locally so we can't really tell you what is faulty there.

To be honest, we are hard to tell you what is the issues causing this without access in your site.

Is there a way to upload a test site in live site similar with your live site everything setting?

By the way, I have read again with your description above, It seems like everything will be set correctly.

May i know what user group published a discussion in your site? Which category are you selected before you post?
Perhaps provide some of your configuration setting and email activity screenshot so we can better have a look? Please advise.

We do have a test site but unfortunately I'm not able to give you the access details to this either...

Please find below some screen shots showing recent discussions, categories and email activities settings, as described above.

NB for the sake of trying to get it working, we've been playing around with the 'Operations category'.

Can you spot anything obviously wrong?
