Hi there,

We just translated all the EasyBlog language files in the root/language/el-GR. But there are some terms that are not translated. We tried clear cache and even translated these terms from the en-GB file but it seems that these terms are not translated/related to the root/language/el_GR file. Even if the command/stream is included and translated in the el_GR file it is like these terms are translated from a different file.

Does it play any role that we have the front end in GR language and the back end in eng language? But again if we translate these specific terms in the en_GB file these are not translated.

We summarised the unrelated/untranslated terms in the below pictures just for you to get an idea.

The photos from 58-61 and 64 relate to the templates.

The photo 63 relates to the EasyBlog settings page.

The photos 65 and 66 relate to the quick post pages 1. more options and 2. video >> insert video

Please let us know where to look in order to translate such options.

Regards,
Dear Arlex,

Thanks for the prompt reply. This is what we did and probably you saw the translated strings once you entered the database. Anyway this is fixed now. Thanks a lot.

Regards,

Hey Phivos,

Thanks for reported, I will fix some of the missing language string in next release version.

For some of the string is not get translated is because those language string is look from backend language file e.g. JoomlaFolder\language\el-GR\el-GR.com_easyblog.ini

COM_EASYBLOG_SELECT_A_CATEGORY="Select a category"
COM_EASYBLOG_GRID_YES="Yes"
COM_EASYBLOG_GRID_NO="No"
COM_EASYBLOG_ADSENSE_USER_SPECIFIED="User Specified"

By the way, may i know how to reproduce this 2 language string is not translated? (you can check my attached 2 screenshot below)

Dear Arlex,

Thanks for the prompt reply. So what can we do for now in order to translate these remaining terms i.e. before the next EasyBlog release?

The language string that is get from the backend language file, you mean in the site root/administrator/components/com_easyblog/languages directory?

With regards to your questions:
1. The first photo, you have to go to the blank template ("Kενό πρότυπο") and then click on the tab "Μπλοκ"
2. The second photo, you have to go to the events template ("Πρότυπο για εκδηλώσεις") and this is located somewhere in the middle of the template.

Hey there,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply and paste wrong language location for you in my earlier reply,

What I mean the above language string is located in JoomlaFolder/administrator/language/el-GR/el-GR.com_easyblog.ini

With regards to your questions:
1. The first photo, you have to go to the blank template ("Kενό πρότυπο") and then click on the tab "Μπλοκ"

This already fix in our repo, will include this in next release version.

2. The second photo, you have to go to the events template ("Πρότυπο για εκδηλώσεις") and this is located somewhere in the middle of the template.

Oh, I know why already, if I am not wrong this `Event template` is come from Easyblog default template right?
If yes, it actually already stored `English` word in the database, so you have to edit this table row -> #__easyblog_post_templates -> Template for Event > edit `data` column -> copy inside the content into your code-editor, then can edit these word to Greek language.

Or re-create a new event template so it will fix this issue quickly.

Dear Arlex,

Just now I saw your reply (no need for you to reply during the weekend).

Please note that I just updated the EasyBlog component. Please check the attached photos. In most of the terms the string is displayed instead of a word in english or greek.

With regards to the following strings mentioned above:

COM_EASYBLOG_SELECT_A_CATEGORY="Select a category"
COM_EASYBLOG_GRID_YES="Yes"
COM_EASYBLOG_GRID_NO="No"
COM_EASYBLOG_ADSENSE_USER_SPECIFIED="User Specified"

I checked in the JoomlaFolder/administrator/language/el-GR/el-GR.com_easyblog.ini and I could not trace these strings. I added them and still the issue persists.

Hey Phivos,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here. Can you head on to http://stackideas.com/dashboard to download the latest version, then install it via Joomla's Extension manager and see if you are still having these issues?

Dear Mark,

I did as instructed and the strings have been corrected except from the location in the first photo (photo 58-b).

The terms remain translated in English, although these are translated in the greek language file (in the root/language/el-GR directory) so I include again all the points for your convenience.

As mentioned above, there is no rush to reply during the weekend. Arlex can handle it from Monday onwards.

Thank you for the reply. Have a nice weekend.

Dear Mark,

I'm really sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Please check photo 67 attached. All the terms in the back end are displayed in strings. In the front end everything is ok.

For the rest terms of the front end as mentioned above please see the terms circled in red in the attached images. I understand that for some of them this may not be possible.

Hey Phivos,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

I have help you updated some of the language string into JoomlaFolder/language/el-GR/el-GR.com_easyblog.ini , it should be work fine.

But I have explain 2 thing :

#1. Regarding the image block language translation issue is because those English word already stored in your database, so you have to edit this table row -> #__easyblog_post_templates -> Template for Event > edit `data` column -> copy inside the content into your code-editor, then can edit these word to Greek language.
Check my screenshot here : http://screencast.com/t/QhEqR6ewR8V

#2. Regarding the publish/creation/unpublish date language translation issue, we still investigate on this is because these string is actually getting from Javascript, this a little bit tricky, I will keep you update on this once we figure out.

Can you double check again and see which part of the language string is not get translated so you can report at this thread again.

Dear Arlex,

Thanks you very much for the support. The main/urgent issue faced right now is that in the back end everything is displayed in strings as per the attached photo 67.

With regards to the database I translated the phrase "drop an image block here" (it was in there around 6 times) but nothing changes in the front end (cleared cache as well). Does it take some time for the system to be updated?

With regards to the publish/creation/unpublish date language translation issue, please let us know if you trace the issue. Does it play any role that the back end is in the english language?

Hey Phivos,

You're welcome.

The main/urgent issue faced right now is that in the back end everything is displayed in strings as per the attached photo 67.

I have temporary renamed this 2 language file in your site and replace my local original file into your site, it should display properly now.
/httpdocs/administrator/language/el-GR/el-GR.com_easyblog.ini_bak
/httpdocs/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easyblog.ini_bak

With regards to the database I translated the phrase "drop an image block here" (it was in there around 6 times) but nothing changes in the front end (cleared cache as well). Does it take some time for the system to be updated?

Can you pass me with your PHPMYADMIN access?

With regards to the publish/creation/unpublish date language translation issue, please let us know if you trace the issue. Does it play any role that the back end is in the english language?

This date translation is actually using the Javascript to trigger it, I will consult with our developer regarding this.

Hey Phivos,

You're welcome.

Perhaps you can try follow my instruction and see is it help?

#1. Ensure which template you would like to modify the language translation e.g. Πρότυπο για εκδηλώσεις
#2. Go to this table #__easyblog_post_template id=9
#3. Copy all the code from this ID `data` column value
#4. Paste into Sublime(one of the code editor)
#5. Find the string e.g "Drop an image block here"
#6. Replace the language word as you would like modify to show Greek language.

Hope this help.
