We currently don't have an ETA for Advance Search but we are hoping to be able to include this in either 1.2 or 1.3.

Is there any third party component that has this capability? I am aware of JoomlaXi has a search component that works with JomSocial.

When will ver 1.2 be released? I just looked at your roadmap and it appears imminent. Is that still the case?

I've used EasyBlog and EasyDiscuss for a while and have been quite pleased, so I naturally assumed that the released version of EasySocial would be fairly comprehensive. To be honest, I am quite astounded at the lack of this crucial search feature. Can the current ver 1.1.3 do ANY kind of search?

As we are still in the early stage of EasySocial, we don't have a 3rd party plugin that does this yet.

We are hoping to be able to release 1.2 by mid/end of January but there are no promises if advance search will make it into this version.

William, your not alone in being eager for the advance search. But be patient, the stacked team wants to make sure the features inserted are as stable as possible. Now that I'm starting to get more into the software field I'm hearing "when will it be releases"? When one writes a book, they do not know off the top of their head when it will be finished. And to predict the revision stages is even harder unless it's not too far off. The Stacked team generously gives us an idea but no absolutes on when things get published. When a movie has a set publish date, typically the movie is already made. But the stacked team has to make it while they make predictions. This helps keep things in motion.

In the software world a small amount of patience has decent rewards. But wait a long time and you will see all sorts of surprises. But someone has to work hard at it, and someone has to want something for it to pay off.

I have been in the IT business since 1990, the internet development business since 1994, and working with Joomla (and predecessor CMS platforms) for about 7 years. I am well aware of the development process. As I commented, I was unsettled to discover that a core functionality readily available in competing products was not yet available in the released version of EasySocial. My bad for not doing a more thorough evaluation of the platform prior to purchase. I do hope that ver 1.2 will be released soon and that Advanced Search will be included. If not, it's back to JomSocial or CB. I cannot afford to wait for ver 1.3.
