https://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/how-tos/how-to-override-date-format is the documentation that mentions EB 5 though it really doesn't relate to my problem at hand. I was merely pointing out that the documentation is out of date.
This is the post I referred to from 2016 -

However, the real issue is there was an easy way to format dates in previous versions (that's the "Old (Good)" part of the attachment) and the seriously (actually unusable) dumbed down version that now exists ("New (Bad)").
All that is left of the settings field where we could, previously, use shortcodes (an almost 100% universal way of doing so in software), are 3 British style dates (see 2nd image). Originally, I would have been OK with that, being a New Zealander, but now, living in America and designing predominantly for American businesses, this is unacceptable.
Why was this change made? In America, we ALWAYS have the month before the day. Today is Tuesday, 13th September, 2022 to a Kiwi or yourselves, but to us, it's Tuesday, September 13th, 2022.
Why was this dumbed down? And how can we make it acceptable to our clients here in America?
