My DB size has gotten very large and much of which is related to EB category ACL... I have removed many categories, users, and user groups but the DB stayed the same size... Any suggestions???
Hi there,

It seems that there are few of our customers have this same issues you are facing right now. We suspect that, your '#__easyblog_revision' who consisted with large amount of data. I would like to suggest you to truncate those data as this issues also faced on our other customer as you can see https://stackideas.com/forums/reducing-the-size-of-myphp-database-eb-blog-revisions-02

If you required more help, can you provide us with your database access for further check on this issues? Please advice

Hi there,

It seems that i cant login using your given access credentials as you can see here https://screencast.com/t/XQsCvitkNFO

I would advice you to do full backup on your site first as if anything wrong happened, we can restore it back to it latest.

Please advice.

I don't seem to see those access. Can you edit your first post to include the site and cpanel access?

Hello Ryan,

I can access your cpanel access now. Thanks for it

By the way, there are issues when you delete your categories, the '#__easyblog_category_acl' not updated to it latest configurations. You can truncate this table by truncating them using this sql "truncate table `*database_name_easyblog_category_acl`;" and you have to re-save all categories on your site in order for them to update to it latest settings.

And it seems that, from my observations, your '#__easyblog_revision' table consist a lot of data and much bigger size than '#__easyblog_category_acl'. In case you required us to truncate them for you, can you provide us with your backend access as i have to update your post, by viewing each post in order to re-update your '#__easyblog_revision'. Please advice.

Note:(*Reminder)
Please make full backup on your site.

HI there,

I have truncate both table that is, '#_easyblog_category_acl' and '#_easyblog_revisions'. For '#_easyblog_revision' everything seems to be working fine. Please give it a check and see how it goes.

But, somehow, when i tried to re-save all your category again, It seems that i have been blocked by your web hosting provider as you can see here http://take.ms/s8l7B You have to re-open all of your categories again, and then re-save them again in order to avoid any inconvenience.

Or maybe, you can unblock us again and maybe let us continue it again for you. Please advice.

Hey there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

It seems like I still hitting the same issue when I trying to resave each categories from your backend.

Joomla Login Temporarily Disabled

Due to a high number of failed login attempts, access to /administrator/index.php has been blocked by Mod Security.

For more information please review our Support Center article on the topic:

http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/news/general/joomla-brute-force-increase

The reason why we need to resave each category setting again from backend is because we realised if you remove category from backend, it will not remove those record from this `bentn_easyblog_category_acl_item`, so this table getting stored more and more record.

For this revision table #__easyblog_revision , we will simplify this in Easyblog 5.1 version, because every time you edit the blog post, it will store 1 record from this revision table, so make this table space become larger.

After you done resave each category setting page from backend, you can able to see this 2 table already reduced some of the spaces from your database.

Hi there,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.

You have to re-open again all of your categories one by one and re-save it again one by one. once you have done that, it should be working fine.

Ok So I have been reopening and saving them... I have a few questions?

Do I have to open and save them in order?

If there are some categories that I do not want do I have to reopen and save those?

Can I delete some categories that I do not want without having to reopen and save those?

Hi there,

Do I have to open and save them in order?

It is fine is you not open them orderly.

If there are some categories that I do not want do I have to reopen and save those?
Can I delete some categories that I do not want without having to reopen and save those?

Currently, there issues regarding this, you can delete them and there are no need for you to open and save them first as if you opened them, then you delete them, the database will not update.

Please advice
