Created a Group, Start a Discussion and have 2 Discussion Options in Drop Down menu

I have created a Group which I want to use as a Site Group for issues, suggestions, how to, announcements etc. Members will be auto assigned on joining.

I was trying to work out how to create some discussion boards inside the group but prevent other members be able to create new boards. I create a new category called sitename and used the ACL to creation actions to Group creator or Admins.

I couldnt really work out the best way to create static boards for Issues, Feature Requests, How Tos etc. but when I looked at the menu I saw 2 options for discussions & Easy Discuss.

How do I only have 1 option shown? ie Easy Discuss

Is it something to do with EasySocial using Easy Social COnversations? What happens when this is turned off? (photo)

I have Categories in there called Issues, Feature Requests Etc.

So I get users to use these ED categories to achieve limited discussion group.

Or is there a better way?
Yes it is Jason The file I've attached above is for change the EasyDiscuss to Forum name and make it in the horizontal menu instead of dropdown.

Yes you can disable the build in EasySocial discussion and just use EasyDiscuss's app where you can disable the group-discuss app. I've helped you disable it as shown:

This is one of EasyDiscuss-EasySocial integration, where if you turn off this option, EasyDiscuss will use it own build in conversation.

You have make the better way for this Jason, where as you use EasyDiscuss group app, it will centralize the category use in EasyDiscuss

Sorry just to clarify.

I need to turn off Easy Social Conversations in the Easy Social integrations section?

When I turn it off Groups will only use Easy Discuss?

Or have I misunderstood.

Hi Jason,

You've misunderstood, where the setting for Easy Social Conversations in the Easy Social integrations section is for the integration of conversation not easydiscuss that use in the group

Yes you can disable the build in EasySocial discussion and just use EasyDiscuss's app where you can disable the group-discuss app. I've helped you disable it as shown:

In the photo I have the word Easydiscuss in the drop down menu

1. How do I change the name to something different i.e. Forum

2. How do I move this from the drop down menu to the main visible horizontal menu item bar?

Seems like you've already change the easydiscuss group app name to forum which is correct way

2. How do I move this from the drop down menu to the main visible horizontal menu item bar?

There is no setting for this currently, however you can do template override for the attached file below in:
.../templates/elegant/html/com_easysocial/helpers/cover/<put it here>

You're suggested to backup the file that you want to customize beforehand for precaution

How do I change the name within the drop down menu from Easy Discuss to Forum?
