Hi there,
I read in the changelog:

Multilingual translation on category names now works properly.
Creating new posts in the backend has less translation issues.

I've missed this translation feature... where can we translate in EasyDiscuss?

PS:
I have a developer plan but I cannot choose it in the priority list when creating a ticket...

Actually these translation fix is actually not a feature, let me explain what is these fix in the latest version :

This fix for those user who want Easydiscuss category to be support multilingual so they will add category title to be language constant, you can take a look of my screenshot here : http://take.ms/OEhIi

And this fix is actually fix those we hardcoded translation string in the code file before, you can check my screenshot here : http://take.ms/eN8eW , so now when switch to another language from backend, those translation will show correctly.

Do you have any idea on how this impact SEO ranking, do the bots read the language constant or the override?

It reads the override of course, the raw language strings aren't visible to the bots.

Ok, and how do you deal with the alias then, the alias has no override.

You end up with COM_EASYSOMETHING_CATEGORY_ONEORTWO in the urls or a source language not translated.

You really should stop implementing incomplete workarounds and start a real cooperation with Faboba-Falang....

I did not write "incomplete alias",
I wrote "incomplete workarounds"
and "alias has no override": the alias is not translated with the override and you will not have SEF urls with the suggested workaround.

Exemple a category:
category name: COM_EASYSOMETHING_CATEGORY_ONEORTWO
category alias: What do you write here? the alias is not translated....

I am sorry for the delay of this reply,

Exemple a category:
category name: COM_EASYSOMETHING_CATEGORY_ONEORTWO
category alias: What do you write here? the alias is not translated....

Unfortunately that was not possible to achieve this, even Joomla category alias also same.

But the only way achieve this, you have to create single category menu item for each categories and each different language single category menu item, so you can able to update the alias from the menu item.

There is one simplest solution..... Falang

If only both parties were trying to work together.... and that is what I am trying to do,
try to make Stéphane and Mark collaborate for a TRUE multilingual experience with Stackideas components...
