Hello,

We are using EasySocial as an Extranet and therefore new users cannot register themselves. Related to this I am wondering if it is possible to override the email that is sent out to new users once we register them on our site.

Email goes like this as default.

Hello XXX,

You have been added as a User to XXX by an Administrator.

This email contains your username and password to log in to http:/XXX

Username: XXX
Password: XXX

Please do not respond to this message as it is automatically generated and is for information purposes only

Thank you
Dennis
Hi there,

You can go to your backend>E-mails>Template editor and search for this template http://take.ms/qhou2. You can manually edited there and it will automatically created template override for you.

This steps is to simplify existing way for template override and after next update/upgrade of Easysocial, it will refer edited(template override) version and our installer wont override this changes and you can use this in the future.

Hope this helps.

Hi Warith,

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough in my previous post. We are looking to change the text in the email not the layout.
I looked in the file but there isn't any text.

thanks
Dennis

Hey Dennis,

Hm, that e-mail notice that you posted doesn't seem to be generated by EasySocial. Did you add the user in Joomla or via EasySocial?

Hi Mark,

I only use EasySocial to add users. hmm strange. Maybe its Joomla that is generating these email then. However this wouldn't make any sense would it?

Ah sorry! I was checking on EasySocial 2.1 files which I shouldn't (I was working on it). Anyway, I believe this is located in /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easysocial.ini at line 234

COM_EASYSOCIAL_MAIL_NEW_ACCOUNT_CREATED_CONTENTS="Hello %s, You have been added as a user to %s by a site administrator.<br /><br />This email contains your username and password which you can use to login to the site.<br /><br />Username: %s<br />Password: %s<br /><br /><br />"

Hi there,

Maybe you can just do language override on string above as follows https://stackideas.com/docs/easysocial/administrators/languages/creating-language-overrides and see how it goes. Why i asked you to do language override is because, when you did update/upgrade your language files, it will override those changes you made on the language files.

By the way, it current path is at administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_easysocial.ini on line 234.

Hope this helps
