how does this facebook access work? If i cannot revoke access the conventional way, is there an unconventional way to do this... like uninstall a plugin and reinstall... anything?

In order for you revoke you facebook access, you have to signed in to your facebook(used for facebook apps). Or you can manually delete them on your database, at this table "__discuss_oauth" . Please give it a try and see how it goes

thank you for your guidance. i deleted the values for the Facebook request token and access token because they appeared to have the incorrect format. instead of """ (quotation marks) they had "&quot". Hope this makes sense.

once i deleted the values i now have the option to sign into Facebook again.

will take it from here but if i find new problems i will post again. thank you.

Thanks for updating us on this but it is strange that you are getting &quot instead of " . Not sure how did the value get altered to &quot. If the problem still happens again and if you are able to replicate this, let us know.

not sure how that value got in there. maybe it was when we migrated the site to a new server.

i did find a new error when trying to post a new topic. i imagine there is a problem with the Facebook app or the token again. see website message below after posting.
