Hi Guys,
I am trying to install Easyblog 5.0.22 on one of my sites, but I cannot get past Step 1 .

When I install the "launcher" (after FTP uploading the component to the recommended location), I see the following error message:

Warning
JInstaller: :Install: Can't find XML setup file.

Message
Installation of the component was successful.

I then click the "Proceed with Installation" button, and I am redirected to the "Step 1, Requirements" page, but I cannot get past this page as the the only options available are "exit Installation" and "Retry Again".

I have tried a number of times to install this package using the launcher, but I cannot get past "step 1".

I have attached a screenshot of the "step 1" page, and as far as I can see, the only issue may be the PHP memory limit, as the recommended is 64M but it is showing only 32M. The problem here is that if you view the phpinfo page for the site (see http://www.scientificss.co.uk/phpinfo.php) you can clearly see that the PHP memory limmit for the site is actually set to 256M, so it is significantly higher that the recommended minimum.

Please can you help?

Thank you.

John
Hi Guys,

I noticed that I just missed you for today, and needed to resolve this as soon as possible.

Anyway, I did a bit more digging as there was a discrepancy between the phpinfo and the Joomla site settings.

The site had a php.ini override file uploaded, and the phpinfo was using this file to read the configuration. However, joomla was ignoring the php.ini file settings and using only the server settings, so it looks like the server does not allow local site php.ini files to override the core srver settings (for added security), so I have been in touch with the server admins and they have now increased the default php.ini settings fr the server, so I have now been able to complete the installation successfully.

Please do close this ticket, as the issue has now been resolved.

Thank you.

John

Hi John,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply due to the different timezone here in our country.

Thanks for the heads up. Glad that your issue has been resolved.
