Require assistance upgrading from EasyBlog 3.9 to latest version. We will be setting it up on a clone of our live site b/c an installation attempt over the weekend broke our site. The installation shuts down at 10%. The error message asks me to enter the correct API key - & I tried regenerating it a couple of times in my account but it still doesn't work

Have installed PHP GD Library on our server. We do not & cannot have FTP access to our server. Our server administrator does not think that it is secure enough (SFTP either). If new files need to be added to the server I can pass them along to our server administrator & he can upload them (I don't have access).
Hey there,

Thanks for getting back to us, I've tried to upload the installer through your Joomla installer page, it seems like I hitting file permission issue, you can take a look of my attached screenshot below.

Can you consult with your Webhosting provider regarding this and help you set these following directory folder to have write permission?

Hello,

This is Armin (I work with Meagan). The file permissions have been fixed and the overview now shows only green permissions.

Please go ahead with updating EasyBlog!

Hey there,

Thanks for fixed the file permission issue, I've tried install again it seems like your server "PHP CURL Library" is not installed, because this is one of the system requirement need to enabled in your php server.

You can refer on our documentation here :
http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/setup/system-requirements

Once your webhosting provider enable `PHP CURL Library` then the installation it should be work fine.

I will assists you the installation issue once you installed CURL in your server.

Yay! It looks great! I'm going to have to familiarize myself with the new display of the backend.

I am realizing now that asking you to do this for me wasn't the best idea b/c I'm not allowed to give outside access to the backend on our live site. If we have the correct permissions installed as on this server, do you think we will have problems like outlined in this post http://stackideas.com/forums/upgrading-to-5-x-from-3-9-read-this-first ?

Should we be okay if we follow the steps outlined here http://stackideas.com/docs/easyblog/administrators/upgrades/upgrade-easyblog-3-9-to-easyblog-5 ? Did you run into any difficulties with our site that I should know about? If you have any very technical advice I can pass it along to our server administrator.
Many thanks!
