Best Place for Search Box (offlajn)

I am wondering where is can I put this search box?

At the moment I have it published here:

My first thought was to move it up towards the top of the column on the left hand side of the ES page! It is published here: es-dashboard-sidebar-bottom
But changing the Ordering does not seem to have any effect!?!
Is this a bug or my stupidity?

Alternatives…

Or where is it possible to put it?!? Technically it is 2 boxes. One for searching and one for displaying results.

I was thinking of in the search bar ONLY on all pages!!!

OR on the profile page/friends page in combination with on the community page!?!

Hello Paul,

What I would personally recommend is for you to create a new module position in your Joomla template and assign them on the template instead. The sidebar already looks very cluttered on your site

Personally, I am a fan of the fixed toolbar approach as I did on statusselect.com, but considering you are using their flat template instead of their elegant template... have it up top where it is right now, but center it and increase the width. Also specify in the search box what they can search for. As you can see on facebook it says, search for people, places and things. On statusselect.com I wrote Search People, Blogs and Discussions.

Most websites have a search bar, but most search bars suck. Now that you are using such a sophisticated search bar, make it a centerpiece and educate your members on how powerful it is.
