Hi - been a long while since I used ES and wow, it's changed a lot. Good job guys!

I have a few odd questions, I hope I haven't overlooked the answers in some manual or FAQ, I looked.

1. Change the text size. I want the basic text size to be larger. I am using 'Frosty' as a theme. Can't figure out where or what to edit. The theme area is puzzling to me and I don't want to break it.

2. Removing 'application' selection from default user menu. I have this 'select apps' turned off for the users. I will install everything they can use on the site. Problem is, it still shows the 'Applications' in menu on left side and under it it says 'No Apps Installed' which looks bad. How to remove?

3. How much can I move items around without breaking things? Can I move the menus into different module areas or should I leave the core 'as is'?

Thank you for any help,

Bridgette
Hi Bridgette,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply. Please find my answers from your inquiries below.

1. Change the text size. I want the basic text size to be larger. I am using 'Frosty' as a theme. Can't figure out where or what to edit. The theme area is puzzling to me and I don't want to break it.

Currently the only way to change the text size is through css modification and it not possible to change the size via quick settings in easysocial.

2. Removing 'application' selection from default user menu. I have this 'select apps' turned off for the users. I will install everything they can use on the site. Problem is, it still shows the 'Applications' in menu on left side and under it it says 'No Apps Installed' which looks bad. How to remove?

You can turn off applications sidebar by going to your backend > easysocial > themes > frosty > dashboard > display applications, http://screencast.com/t/MFP4QFZR .

3. How much can I move items around without breaking things? Can I move the menus into different module areas or should I leave the core 'as is'?

By right everything should be okay but it is advisable for you not to modify the core behavior of easysocial without having the understanding on how the system works.

Hope these help.

Ok. Exactly which file and where in it am I looking if I want to change the size of all the menu texts? (news, who is online, app list etc etc.)

Will I want to download that file from server, edit it, upload it and then recomplie? Or is a quick edit ok without recompiling the template?

Details please.

Thanks,

Bridgette

Hi Bridgette,

There is no specific file to edit in order to achieve this. All you need to do is inspecting the css element via browser and click on the text that you want to change the size. Change the size accordingly and then copy the element into your custom.css located inside your template folder, http://screencast.com/t/X2lNVITnH . Repeat the same process with other text inside easysocial.

By the way I am really sorry but unfortunately we cannot accommodate your request currently as it is beyond our support scope's policy as outlined in http://stackideas.com/support

Having said that, if you require us to perform the customization for you, you can always request for a quote from us at https://crm.stackideas.com and select "Customizations" . Our sales person would be glad to send you a quote for the customizations that you have requested.

Uh, okay... I didn't ask for any customization work. I asked where you put the sizes for your component.

I will do as you say, since you don't have it documented but it's hardly unreasonable for me to ask before poking around like that.

Most people do know where they placed the style vars.

thank you for replying - even if you did not understand that I wasn't asking you to do anything at all other than share information.

regards,

Bridgette

Hey Bridgette,

Firstly I do apologize for the confusions here as Ezrul has already provided you with the solution to inspect the element and adding them into your template's css file

What he meant to say was that, we are unable to assist you further with these customization requests as they are actually beyond the scope of our support
