We need to NOT display day month and year of birth in View Full Profile

We did not realize that when a person selects View Full Profile they are shown the day month and year of birth. We tried to set this so that the year would not display by default. But, it appears to be displaying. Is this something that we configured wrong?

In Profile Types under Custom Field for Birth year privacy we set it to Allow year privacy under the Basic tab.
We set Show age in profile to NO in the View tab.
In Advanced we have Privacy set to Yes.

We want to make sure that by default nobodies birth year is displayed to anybody unless they specifically want to turn it on!

I am wondering if the only way to turn this off is to set the value "Required" to NO in the Core tab?

Under the birthday field, there is a year privacy that user will have to set in order to hide the birth year.

Currently there is no global way to hide/set the year to be hidden unless if your site's user sets the birth year privacy during profile edit.

There should be a way to accomplish what Sean mentioned. Some folks might figure it out, but many will not. Some will see it and not think about the options and get paranoid and remove the data. What I'm getting at is that by default the user data for a user should be "proper" (as in safe for the public to know those private details) and then if the user wants to display more they can choose to do so.

Hi,

Go to Easysocial -> Privacy - > find and open : Who can view my BIRTHDAY field data

There you can modify the default privacy value


Also in the profile types - > privacy - > Profile Fields there is a privacy option "Who can view my birthday field"

Thank you but unless I am mistaking, this is the privacy for the whole birthdate. This topic is about birth year privacy only, that has its own privacy (so that people can wish you an happy birthday without knowing your age ).

In the back end you can configure the default privacy setting.

In the front end, users can modify privacy settings in their profile edit page, there is also an option for year privacy.

What we need here is to define a default privacy for year, that will be different from the default privacy of day and month. Yes a user can do this in the frontend. But default privacy for year (again, different from the default privacy of day and month) can't be defined in the backend.

I seems can't understand you well. Do you mean that you want to define a default privacy year to all user isn't? Currently this feature is not available yet. We'll see if we can include this in the future releases. Thanks for your suggestion.
