Is it possible to redirect a new user after they first register to a preset menu item when using the email activation method?

I am trying to configure Membership Pro as my subscription software and don't want it to control the sign up process as I want to keep Easy Social for that. As members initially signup as free I want to keep the activation by email process as a security measure. It works fine without the activation process but will more or less let anybody in...

I want new members to sign up securely in Easy Social then go straight to Membership Pro to choose a subscription if that makes sense.

Thanks
Hello Peter,

I am sorry but unfortunately that is not possible currently.

Thanks for the quick answer Mark.

Is this something that could be in the pipeline - Easy Social 2 perhaps?

Hello Peter,

From what I understand here, you want a different redirect URL when clicking on the e-mail and a different redirection when registering on the site, is this correct?

I don't think we have added such settings and we will not be adding such settings because these are the settings that would just complicate things.

No, sorry I'll try and be clearer...

Usual registration with ES using the setting to send an activation email.

User then activates their account and then logs in....

At that point I want them to go to Membership Pro subscription plans to choose one.

Hm, this is beyond the control of EasySocial because right after the user logs in, Membership Pro should need to determine if the user has a subscription plan or not. If they don't, they need to redirect the user to the appropriate pages to select a plan.

This could be easily achieved using a system plugin

So, if EasySocial is controlling the sign up process should it be an ES plugin that works with Membership Pro?

EasySocial controls the sign up process, that is correct but based on what you said earlier, this does not necessarily be at the sign up level. If you look at your previous message,

User then activates their account and then logs in....

At that point I want them to go to Membership Pro subscription plans to choose one.

You want to redirect them to the Membership Pro subscription plans after they login and because after logging in, Membership Pro could have a system plugin to detect if the user has a subscription or not. If it doesn't, the plugin would then redirect the user to the appropriate page.

Yes I asked in that way because I can't see any other way of using the 2 components at the moment....

Is it possible that ES could produce a plugin to act with Membership Pro during the registration process then?

That would be ideal

No we can't because:

1. We did not develop Membership Pro and we have no idea how to deal with Membership Pro

2. Even if we did create this plugin, I don't see how this would be beneficiary for us. This plugin should be created by the guys from Membership Pro because this would then open up their market
