G'day,

not sure if i am right here with this question...

I've a couple of FLV-files integrated in my blog:

for example:
http://www.meinoz.de/index.php/reiseblogs/blogger/entry/reisetagebuch-die-letzten-videos

now i`d like to enable a preview image and get stucked.

How can i enable this in adding some vars into the source ?

Or do i have to ask elsewhere ?

Example source:

[embed=video]{"width":600,"height":360,"autostart":false,"controlbar":"bottom","backcolor":"#333333","frontcolor":"#ffffff","file":"/2013-11-30.flv","place":"user:363"}[/embed]

thx.
Hello Heinz,

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately there is no setting for this and it would involve hacking to get this done Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks!

Hi Adelene,

hmmm, that sounds bad for me...

Cause it`s a standard feature in flash-player i thought its a minor change.

So, its impossible (without hacking) for any kind of video-clips?

Hello Heinz,

So sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I must have missed your post Unfortunately customising is not in our scope of support but I will add this in our request list for Easyblog. Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Hello Heinz,

I'm sorry for the late reply, we can't really estimate the time for it or if it is selected to be on the next release. In the meantime why not upload it in youtube and have the link embed to your site. Youtube player displays picture snip it of the video and might look better in your site instead of the black display.

Thanks:)

Hello,

Hm, I am really sorry that we missed this post and it looks like the guys earlier did not notify me of such requests. I am not really sure if I understand you here, are you wanting to embed other codes in the video embed codes?

Hi,

it's very simple.
If i add a video (file is located on my server) to my blog it appears as a blackbox with a play button, not very nice.
Usually there should be a preview picture.
look here: http://www.meinoz.de/index.php/reiseblogs/blogger/entry/reisetagebuch-die-letzten-videos

Maybe there's a way to "hack" the source or to modify any parameter?

kind regards

Hello Heinz,

Ah I see. Unfortunately EasyBlog's media manager does not perform any conversion or "process" your videos. All it does is that it tries to embed your video with a player. In a proper scenario if ffmpeg is added into EasyBlog, we could get the first frame of the video and generate a screen shot of it but I need to take a look at the players if they allow us to provide them with a preview image initially.

It's tricky because of the workflow of inserting videos into the editor. When you insert the video, it wouldn't be possible for you to select that element to pick an image for the preview of the video.

Unfortunately not possible If we ever add our own video processing script, we might be able to capture the screen shot but I don't think we will add our own video processor anytime soon because it's really tricky.

Hi Heinz

Maybe this helps

http://stackideas.com/forums/easy-blog-jce-image-manager-extended#reply-81581

Kind of a similar problem?

Check out my site here to see how I implemented videos:

http://finalbug.net/blog

Also used JCE Extended Media manager but maybe it is possible without. I have this mouse over thing on the video thumbnail previews which I am rather partial too

best

Paul

G'day Paul,

no, it seems that you use an external source (vimeo).

With external sources (vimeo, youtube, ...) everything works fine, also the preview picture because it`s generated via the source.

thx.

Yep, currently if you are using the upload method to embed videos, there's no way for us to manipulate these images because it does not go through a video conversion tool like FFMpeg
