For Silver and Gold Members of Jevents. Geraint has released a beta version for integrating Jevents with EasySocial. Note it is installed as an application within EasySocial.

I've started testing - would be great if other users could test as well. You can find the download within the Silver/Gold section of the jEvents user forum.

Easy Social Integration - Test Version

Please find attached a test version our EasySocial integration for JEvents.
This is a work in progress and not all features are implemented yet so your feedback and testing experience would be most welcome.
Geraint
_______________

My initial reaction to jEvents components - they seem to be more "solid" than some of the other solutions built for Joomla based on what I'm looking for...

Why I'm starting to work with jEvents:

1. RSVP, event invites, event attendance tracking, etc. including Ticketing (with integration into Hikashop, etc.) This also gives one shopping cart system for both tickets and other online store items. Hikashop has front end store / vendor management which makes it much easier to train customers how to manage their online store presence. Note I tried jTicketing but it has it's own shopping cart - with no integration to Hikashop. Having two shopping carts on the same site is confusing for our end users.
2. Advanced event management (re-occuring events, etc.) Looking forward to EasySocial Event integration into jEvents calendar. jEvents also has a very strong / granular control of who can create/edit/view events. I also looked at Calendar Planner but it does not yet have control features to limit who can create or view events from the front end. It's all or nothing.
3. Resource Management - Location & People management within the context of events. Logic to find double bookings, etc.

Anyone else using or looking forward to this integration of jEvents with EasySocial 1.3+? Please let me know if you think I should consider other options as well...

Thanks!
I generally use MijoShop and MijoEvents. But as they don't have integration with EasySocial, it would be intriguing to see this.

My other concern is lack of wanderers template overrides, considering I now switched to wanderers hehe.

But well, I will keep an eye out on developments.

We are very keen on an Events system. Been waiting for the ES one, but not sure when it is coming... Mark, maybe you can shed some light on an ETA?

Anyway, otherwise I am very interested to know what the thoughts are around jEvents with EasySocial.

Great news! Mark could you give us some idea of what functionality and features the Event System in 1.3 would have and a rough idea of when you expect it to be released?

The beta is already available for download and you can access it at http://stackideas.com/issues . I do not have an exact ETA on when it would be released unfortunately

I'm guessing two weeks, maybe three. Beta 4 is getting pretty stable, but as always the stacked team wants it to be really stable before releasing.

Anyways here is a sample of events: http://www.test.alpineascent.com/more/events/item/7-mountains

Mark, not interested in an 'exact' ETA, but rather an estimate / rough idea. I am sure that many other users would like to get an idea on this as well.

And about the features and functionality, all good and great that there is a beta available but it would still be great to give a short summary to the users or readers of the post about what can be expected from the ES Events feature.

Will it be a fully fledged Events Management system or will it be more closely related to the JS Events system, etc... Are you working with any 3rd party extension developer for further integration, e.g. jEvents, Ohanah, TechJoomla, etc...

Will their be a better Invitation system which would work with the Events in ES?

Apologies for all the questions, but this would help us and I'm sure others at planning and possibilities on expanding their current site offerings.

For starters it's a lot like groups in terms of setup. ES Events have an attending system that allow you to see who is going and who is not going.

I would not be able to give you an estimate either but generally as Josh pointed out, it would be a week or so before we go into RC or stable. The more users test it, the faster it gets out

Hello Ron,

The JEvents integration you're talking about, is that an EasySocial App that Geraint created? Or he integrate EasySocial within JEvents & RSVPro?

Thanks,

Jackson

Jackson - Geraint created an EasySocial App. You install it within the EasySocial app area. The initial app performs the following:

"At present the functionality shows a list of events on the profile page of the user - events they created or are attending (using RSVP Pro). Tighter integration is planned soon."

Mark - are you working with Geraint to integrate with jEvents?

Thanks
Ron

Thanks for sharing this Ron Yes, but he didn't actually contacted us about any integrations. He only requested for a copy of EasySocial
