It seems like your site's language is not up to date. You might try to reinstall to ensure that the language strings are updated properly.

As for group events, if you would like to disable this, then go to backend -> Applications and disable the Group - Events app.

Ok, well I only just installed the update to the latest version so I guess that may have not worked (although all the messages suggested it had worked fine.)

Thanks for the tip re disabling the Group-events app, I realise now I mis-read what the setting I mentioned was for (I assumed it turned on or off the ability to use events in groups but on looking again see it is just about if to display them or not in listings.)

Perhaps there should be an option(s) around allowing events in groups (if creator can allow them or not etc) as there are for things like discussions and announcements?

Currently there are no direct settings but you can add a field called "Group Events" under Group Category. This will lets you define who gets to create event in the group.

Not sure I follow you. I don't see a field type called "Group Events" - there is one called "Event Create" which seems to do what you are suggesting?

I have to say that I'm finding configuring groups quite limiting, for instance things like RSS feeds, Tasks and Group Events are all things it seems you have to allow for all groups or no groups at all?
