Can event date format be changed?

Is there a setting somewhere that controls how the date of an event is shown on the event page and event listings?

I'm sure there probably is, but I can't find it!!!!

Right now my events are like 30th Mar, 2015 5:15PM and I'm trying to get the day of the week showing in front, eg Sunday 29th Mar....

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

Unfortunately there is no setting to change the date format from the backend. However you can change the formatting by going to your \language\en-GB\en-GB.com_easysocial.ini and change the following string:


COM_EASYSOCIAL_DATE_DMY12H="jS M, Y g:iA"

//replace with

COM_EASYSOCIAL_DATE_DMY12H="l, jS M Y g:iA"

Hello

I think this is defined by the language string COM_EASYSOCIAL_DATE_DMY12H (whose value is "jS M, Y g:iA").

You can override this string but the new format may apply to some other dates in ES (not only events).

I've made the fix (added it in the great Joomla Language Overrides so no need to tweak that .ini file).... but I've also added it to Voices for a general setting in admin back-end to cover this... http://stackideas.com/voices/item/700 (I could be wrong but this would then let people set 12h / 24h time themselves, so rather than adding another setting, it could just replace an existing one perhaps)

Andy, keep in mind that your voice link does not work due to missing the sub url "/easysocial". So for those interested in seeing the voice page it is here: http://stackideas.com/voices/easysocial/item/700

Also I suggest in the future putting your voice page inside of the original post so that more people can see it. This is a feature that would save the stacked team a lot of requests. A global date format through out EasySocial would be the most ideal date format. It would also cut down on unnecessary options and keep things consistent.
