Hi, hi
A Cheat sheet now that is a good idea!
Case study 01:
Using the Blog Image function in the EB3.9x back end:
http://finalbug.net/blog/entry/390-editing-a-documentary-in-fcp-x-part-01
The original image (FinalBUG-Edit-Documetary-TITLE.jpg) is 600 times 337
The Blog image is cropped top/bottom and stretched horizontally in two different ways!
This would be a disaster if I had something called a lower third!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lower_third
On the post it self the image is 730 times 310.

On the Blog list view the image is 800 times 310.

Hence I decided OK 800 times X is probably a good number!
Case Study 02:
The original image (13042015-MC-UI-WEB9) is 800 times 448
The Blog image is cropped top/bottom however the width remains the same.
On the post it self the image is 600 times 375

On the Blog list view the image is 600 times 370.

The reason I wanted to try a width of 800 pixels is because it seems to be what works best for a Blog post on EN3.9 in wanders using the default EB template. Some how no mater what I do this never seems to match up!!!
Case Study 03:
Images for the post:
http://finalbug.net/blog/entry/400-edit-in-resolve-the-fcp-way-part-01
Are 800 times 490 and get pulled through from the Blog to the Blog list page because I am using JCE Extended Media Manager!
This is kind of the nearest that I can get to having images pretty much the same size. Most of the time.
Here is another case in point. Case Study 04:
http://finalbug.net/component/easysocial/profile/62/99-blog
Notice the aspect of the images!!!
Is there a future proof way of getting the following images to match up
a) Blog image header on Blog page
b) Blog image header on Blog list page
c) Images on a blog to match image header
And all of this with out either
a) Cutting off the top and bottom of an image as in case 01
b) Have different image widths for blog header image/images in post
c) Squishing the width (pinching an image) as in case 04
By future proof I mean a solution that does not change with EB5.
Sorry if I am a little frustrated but I am preparing 100s of images for some new blog posts and want to avoid unnecessary work!!!
I hope this makes some kind of sense?
