Hi! I've just setup EasySocial and imported everything from JomSocial.

However, I'm having a problem with the imported YouTube videos....

The videos either show as a white box (on the stream) or as an image (in a group video) which, if you click on, do not show the video.

I've attached images of those situations with URLs below in the "Hidden from Public" area.

What should I do?

Thanks. -- Rik
Hey there,

It seems like Jomsocial the way their store the video data is different from us then causing this issue, I will report this to our developer regarding this and see whether we can include the proper fix in next release version.

For now, I did tried to applied some fix in this file -> JoomlaFolder/administrator/components/com_easysocial/includes/video/video.php but I hitting following permission error.

Response: 550 video.php: Permission denied
Error: Critical file transfer error

Can you try backup your original file then download my attached file and replace into above file location and see how it goes?

The attached video.php file appears to fix both problems.

Hey Rik,

I already consult with our developer regarding this, you might need to remigrate again to get all the data store correctly in Easysocial, since Jomsocial do not have store these video oembed data.

May i know your site user already start using Easysocial now? Because our developer still working on this, we will probably release another new Easysocial version in end of next week.

Arlex:

I noticed that it's missing hundreds of videos that are not showing in the video counts.

The site is already live but I don't mind rebuilding / re-importing if necessary since it doesn't take too long and it should be a lot easier the 2nd time around.

Thanks. -- Rik

Hello Rik,

Re-migrating should be pretty easy but you first need to delete those existing videos that was previously imported to remove duplicate videos. Once that is removed, go to the migration section and clear the history so that you could re-run the migration process again (I would suggest waiting for 2.0.9 since we also applied the same fixes here)

Arlex:

The changes didn't appear to make it into the ES 2.0.9 release so I reverted to the above video.php.

Hey Rik.

It actually needed re-migrate again in order to permanent fix this issue.

Can I have the permission to help you re-migrate again? But before we do that, we actually need to truncate all of your existing video data from this table -> #__social _videos and remove those video migrated data from #__social_migrators table, so when we re-migrate again, it will not migrate other stuff into your existing Easysocial.

That would be great! Thanks. -- Rik

Because it needed some sql queries only remove those migrated video data from #__social_migrators table.

If you need any further assistance on this, we would love to help.

Arlex:

I guess that I need your help.

I gave it a try myself and got strange results. For example, in our Australia Group (most of our groups are based on countries), the videos listed under the "Videos" menu selection all belong to that group. However, if I look at the stream for Australia, there are videos from other countries wrongly mixed into the Australia stream. I've noticed this happening on each group that I have checked.

I hope that you can get better results.

Thanks. -- Rik

It seems like something is messed up, may i know is it possible to uninstall Easysocial from your site and drop all the existing Easysocial table from your database?

Then I will try install Easysocial and re-migrate everything from Jomsocial to Easysocial.

What do you think?

If you agree with it, can I have your database access?

Starting over will be fine. Thanks. -- Rik

PS: MijoSQL is already installed as a component. Do you need anything else to access the database?

I've looked around and it looks great. I just see one small issue: the video count in the Admin area is not reflecting the true amount of videos (there are hundreds no just 67). Does that number get updated by a cron?

Thank you very much. -- Rik

Hey Rik,

Regarding with your question, currently that video count from your backend Easysocial dashboard it will only count for user video, for those group/event/page video it will not count it together.

Kindly start a new thread if you have any other issue in the future so it will be easier for us to manage your inquiry. I will lock and mark this thread as resolved.
