You can't really compare Wordpress with EasyBlog It's like comparing apples with oranges. You should compare Joomla with EasyBlog vs Wordpress

In a whole, I personally would vouch for a Joomla setup simply because it's vast extension base and the core itself is community driven

I think you should first check what you want to do. When you got a plan you can go and check what you can make of Wordpress and what is possible with Joomla and then make a choice.
