Will Joomla 3.8 enable our ED to no longer need ID numbers in the URLs?

I am wondering if we would be able to change the routing in EasyDiscuss to no longer need to display the ID numbers in the urls after upgrading to Joomla 3.8?

Examples of my urls are

https://www.drcarney.com/talk/1400-type-1-diabetes-helpful-support-discussions

https://www.drcarney.com/talk/1301-whole-grains-for-people-with-celiac-disease-and-pre-diabetes

etc...

I would love to have urls without those ID numbers. :-)

If Joomla 3.8 SEF handle this situation like umlauts alias URL without id very well, we will probably change to use this SEF behaviour like Joomla in the future.

Great. I will be looking forward to that. At the time it will break some of my urls but I will put in redirects. I will be so happy to get rid fo the ID numbers.
