There really ought to be a way of reviewing events and this should be included in your main application. One of the most common uses of event posting is the review feature. Why does this not exist? Do you not consider events as a principle aspect of your social tools? Odd...
Hey Mark,

Hm to be honest, we have never received such requests from users and majority if not all requested for reviews on a page rather than event. You could always post this as a feature request under the Feature Requests section and if there are enough votes on that, we'll consider this

Hello Mark,

Thank you and apologies. I thought this was posted under feature requests.

As regards the use of Events, I have canvassed our users and they, without exception, would use such a feature and often.

1.) Professional users need to know, particularly with recurring events, what other think. They will base their decisions on future attendance on this.

2.) Event Organisers often send out follow up emails to request feedback for events they have posted. This would make this requirement redundant.

3.) The Event posting capability of Joomla is negligible. Although there are several event extensions, none of them are integrated into social applications. Ii is obviously a way of keeping your user base and of encouraging them to use your social tools rather than Jomsocial which does provide this capability.

4.) There are numerous other features based on the idea of garnering feedback on events that you could incorporate.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Mark

Ah I see. It looks like this post was posted under the Echo template. I will move this into the appropriate feature requests section for EasySocial

We'll consider creating an Event Reviews app.

Just came to post the same request as this one - so adding my voice here to have an app to allow Event Reviews - just like the existing ones for Page and Group.

Would need to be able to use it after the event has passed of course... this may tie-up with issues I've raised elsewhere in that the timeline of an event is blocked to anyone who didn't RSVP prior to it taking place. This is very restrictive and a constant annoyance to my users who are always pestering me as SuperAdmin saying "Hey I went to this event, and now I want to add thanks / feedback / photos etc" - Explaining to them they should have RSVP'd to the event in order to do this doesn't go down too well!

I'm rambling off topic now but I think the solution to that is to allow RSVP post-event, or give an Admin setting to Events in general allowing people to post on the timeline at any time regardless of whether they've RSVP'ed or not.

Brilliant. Thanks for squeezing this in amongst everything else. I'm guessing you haven't slept for a couple of weeks now. Must be time to "Rest Up, Power Up". Please look after yourself!
