Can you help me to understand what I am doing wrong that -1 keeps getting appended to the alias of my blogs.

I keep trying to save a test blog of a scientific study summary and need to use the title of the study as the title of the blog. Unfortunately I keen removing the -1 but it keeps getting added back!

I know there is a reason and a cause and maybe if I understood why it keeps doing this I could prevent it.

I want:
effects-of-a-very-low-fat-high-fiber-diet-on-serum-hormones-and-menstrual-function

and not:
effects-of-a-very-low-fat-high-fiber-diet-on-serum-hormones-and-menstrual-function-1
Hi there,

Can you help me to understand what I am doing wrong that -1 keeps getting appended to the alias of my blogs.

-1 will append to your alias if you got duplicate title on site as it cant be store with same title on Database.

I found the old draft that had the good url and deleted it. Then I changed the url that was bad to be good.

I still have to figure out how I created a draft with the wrong url but it must be user error.

This is sure the reason why it append you "-1".

Does it solved your issues?

I believe I have found the answer to this question that has been baffling me. There is a 'Draft' with the correct url. I have to figure out how to delete the draft and then I should be able to change the URL. I would really like to know how to make sure the urls always stay the same if there was some way.

Well, I now know the answer. I am baffled as to why I keep storing the good url on copies that I am not editing. Very strange. I am not sure what I am doing wrong that makes this keep happening. If you have any idea what could be causing this to happen I would be grateful. It seems like all the drafts should keep the same URL since they are just drafts?

But, thank you for confirming.

Hi Sean,

t seems like all the drafts should keep the same URL since they are just drafts?

Yes it is Sean. Eventhough those blogs are on "Draft" mode, those "alias" stored on Database.

By the way, you are most welcome Sean. Glad to hear that your issue has been resolved now.

As a gentle reminder, kindly start a new thread if you have any other issue in the future so it will be easier for us to manage your inquiry. I will lock and mark this thread as resolved.
