Hello everybody !

Do you also would like to have an EasyDiscuss Page App to integrate EasyDiscuss into EasySocial Pages ?
On the same model as the applications to integrate EasyBlog in the Pages.

If so, do not hesitate to leave a message here

Thank you.
Philippe
+1 That would indeed build a stronger relationship between the components.

Thank you peiyouliao !
The more people we want to have this application, the more Stackideas will be motivated to do so.

Someone else ?

Hello Mark !
Thank you to participate in this post

First of all, in Pages there is already a native Discussions application. This then proves that you yourself, you think a forum application is useful and necessary in a Page.
And thus justifies the need to have EasyDiscuss also in the Pages, just as with Groups. Because EasyDiscuss is a more powerful and comprehensive tool than Discussions.

What are the benefits of having to render EasyDiscuss on the page of EasySocial ?
In your EasySocial demo, one of the categories of Pages is "Brand or Product".
You know it better than I do, any product always raises technical issues.
A forum dedicated solely to a specific product could be very useful, no ?

Let's take an example. If I create a site about Drones, in EasySocial I will create a Page for each Drone model.
Each of these pages will have the EasyDiscuss application, so that visitors can ask their questions that specifically concerns the model of their Drone.
This application will also be useful for a Company or a Store where visitors could ask their specific questions.
The site is then better organized and clearer.

Hence the interest of "Discussions Page App", and even more of "EasyDiscuss Page App".

However, I can not settle for Discussions App. Because Discussions is very basic, too basic even.
The features are rudimentary. The nonexistent options.
Unlike EasyDiscuss which is a mature product, very well designed, powerful and feature rich. EasyDiscuss meets my expectations very well !
So obviously I would rather used EasyDiscuss in Pages, rather than Discussions.

Besides that, the big advantage of EasyDiscuss would be that the questions asked from the Pages will also be visible in the main application of EasyDiscuss.

To convince you, you will find at the end of this post a detailed comparison of Discussions and EasyDiscuss.
You will find that the differences are very numerous.
See also screenshots in attachments.

We are already 9 people in total who would like EasyDiscuss to be integrated into the EasySocial Pages...

A few months ago, you released an application to integrate EasyBlog into the EasySocial Pages.
Now we all expect that EasyDiscuss will also be integrated into the EasySocial Pages...

Thank you very much for your understanding.
Philippe

Instead of waiting and fighting you could install the stream anywhere module, place it on the pages sites, have a unique stream for each page which is combined into the main stream and all of your members will see any post from the pages instantly. I know that is not what you want obviously, but this could be done now by yourself.

Thank you Sabih for this solution, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations indeed.
I just wish that Stackideas offers the plugin to use EasyDiscuss in the Pages; like EasyBlog.

Why EasyBlog benefits, and not EasyDiscuss !!
It is incoherent

For me personally full on ED integration would be overkill but I think it would be nice to:

  • Have better editing options for discussions.*Note Below
  • Have some kind of search system for topics already discussed!

For e.g. a Search field in the fields section!?!

In my case I am setting up study groups so inevitable the same questions will come up again and again.

Lets say some one wants to find out “How to relink offline Media”

First Scenario: They enter the text and find the answer which is already there.

Second Scenario: They enter the text and find no answer and then post question for the first time.

Note*:Its seems weird to me that the editor for reply to a discussion is way simpler than the editor for creating a discussion!?!

If any one is interested this is how I am implementing here:

https://www.finalbug.net/groups-learn-post-production-socially-fcpx-and-more/26-fcpx-not-pro/apps/26-discussions/item/144

Thougths comments feed back also welcome

I agree with you, the editor is a little archaic.
BBCode seems to me outdated.

In theory EasyDiscuss will be the next product that will benefit of a major upgrade, just after EasyBlog and PayPlans.
