Hi Support

Maybe I am missing something really simple but in the ES Backend:
Profile Type/ProfilePrivacy/Profile/WhoCan
Who can search my profile
Set to Everyone

When Not Logged In 3 profiles with 15 FCP 7 Editors Only
When Logged In I see 3 page with 15 FCP 7 Editors per page

I would have thought that when I should see all members when not logged in?

As of now I have to login in to get the advanced searches filter to work!

i.e. to be able to for eg Search all FCP 7, FCP X Editors etc

Am trying to get this so that:

a) All members are searchable (Loged in/out)
b) Regular Bloggers (Admin) have profiles viewable to the public. (BOTH Loged in/out)

Please advise

Paul
Hello Paul,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

It seems like I cannot access to your administrator area due to the permission issue, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-09_1318.png . Please advise.

Hi Erzul

this is what Siteground are saying:

Thank you for contacting our Help Desk.

I have checked the .htaccess of the application and noticed that there are rules denying access to the website from certain IP Addresses. Can you please provide us with the IP Address which you want to have access to the website, so we can make sure that it is not in the lists:

Code:
# Cyveillance
deny from 38.100.19.8/29
deny from 38.100.21.0/24
deny from 38.100.41.64/26
deny from 38.105.71.0/25
deny from 38.105.83.0/27
deny from 38.112.21.140/30
deny from 38.118.42.32/29
deny from 65.213.208.128/27
deny from 65.222.176.96/27
deny from 65.222.185.72/29
Deny from env=bad_bot
#</Limit/>/administrator/

deny from 188.2.251.169
deny from 107.132.214.17
deny from 107.132.214.17
deny from 177.208.32.51

I am looking forward to your reply.

End of Sitegroud

Could this be part of the problem?
Or do you have another suggestion?

thanks

Hi Erzul

Just a thought.
Is it possible that you were logged in to the back end whilst logged in at the front end.
This is something that I have been noticing.

best

Hi SI Team

Can you try logging in at the back end?

You can actually test this best if you are not logged in at the front end.

When I go here:

http://finalbug.net/registered-members

I see Users with Profile

I know for a fact that about 40 of these have FCP7 or X in their profiles for e.g.

As of now I am seeing all users with a photo.

If I click on a random profile I am told:

Access to this profile has been restricted for privacy reasons.
You may need to log in and be a friend of this user before you can see it.

which is good

This is what I do not understand

If I go to the search filters on the left of the members area

And I search for e.g. FCP 7

I see only

paurray
Archy
BRUCE

Back on the members page vidibiz who is the first person I am seeing should show up in the following filters: Avid, Final Cut X & Premiere

But they do not.

There must be a way of getting vidibiz and other registered users to show up in the filtered user section!

What am I missing?

hope this makes some kind of sense?

best

Hello Paul,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

I am able to replicate the issue on your site. I suspect it might be due to the privacy issue of the user. However I cannot confirm my suspicion as I am not able to access your admin area. I encounter the permission issue right after I go to your administrator login area. Here is my ip address if its help : 175.136.61.168

Looking forward to your response!

Hi Erzul

Please try again

thanks

Paul

from Siteground:

I have checked the sever logs and noticed that the IP Address was denied only to the administration side of the website:

Code:
[Tue Jun 09 00:17:39 2015] [error] [client 175.136.61.168] client denied by server configuration: /home/finalbug/public_html/administrator
[Tue Jun 09 03:07:06 2015] [error] [client 175.136.61.168] client denied by server configuration: /home/finalbug/public_html/administrator
[Tue Jun 09 05:04:30 2015] [error] [client 175.136.61.168] client denied by server configuration: /home/finalbug/public_html/administrator

I have added the 175.136.61.168 IP Address into the /home/finalbug/public_html/administrator/.htaccess file and the access to the backend of the website is granted.

If you have further questions or need assistance, do not hesitate to contact us again.

Best Regards,

Elena Chavdarova

Sorry for being impatient but there is something really simple that I am just not seeing here.
I have attached screen shots in the hope that this helps.
Even any one needs to get into my back end & can not let me know and I will get you in within an hour of being told.
Should be online for the next 6 hours.

Hello Paul,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply as the post is getting pushed up and I missed the post as I was handling the older post here.

I can access to your administrator login page now but I cannot access to your administrator area due to the following error message:
You can not login to the site. Please, contact webmaster.

Looking from your pictures and it seems everything should be working fine. Perhaps there are some misconfiguration during the creation of the filters. By the way I notice that the user that does not appear in the search result when viewing as guest seems like their profile is not having much details when I view the profile while logged in. May I know what is the profile types of the following user : a.vanessa ?

Hi Erzul

thanks for getting on to this.

First question:

You gave me your IP address yes?
This is the one that you are using to try and access the Site?

Using the previous IP address:

I have added the 175.136.61.168 IP

This is important as I want to figure if there is anontehr issue here on the side

Yes and the pictures look fine to me.

I am pretty sure that the search used to work!

By the way I notice that the user that does not appear in the search result when viewing as guest seems like their profile is not having much details when I view the profile while logged in.

Second Question: You can log in at the front end?

There are a lot of user that are effectivly dead. i.e. they were ported from Community Builder and have not logged in, in donkeys years...

Maybe that help!

Third Question: Is there some where to check the setting for the filters that I set up?

And finally yes an answer:

a.vanessa is a regular registered user.

I am attaching screen shots for a.vanessa.

Also I am attaching screen shots for paurray, BRUCE, estest07 and Archy

If there is any thing else you need I am around all day :-)

thanks

Hello Paul,

Our office IP address is always changing for security purpose. Here is the current ip address : 210.195.142.89

Second Question: You can log in at the front end?

Yes I can logged in at the front end, but not backend.

Regarding on a.vanessa user, can you view his/her privacy by clicking on the user and go to the privacy tab as you can see from my example here, http://screen.stackideas.com/2015-06-12_1655.png

Looking forward to your response.

Hi Erzul

Have done as requested.
Please see screen shot.

Also I have logged out of the back end.
I have noticed recently that I can not log in at the front and back end.
So please try again and let me know how you get on.

If you can not log in I will get that new IP address into the .htacess file within the hour

best

Hello Paul,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply as it weekends for all of us here.

Seeing from the screenshot settings the user should appear in the search filter when viewed as non-logged in user. However its very hard to tell since I cannot replicate the issue in my local instance and I don't have access to your site due to the permission issue. I've tried to access your provided FTP but it seems like the FTP is not the correspondent to finalbug.net .

Perhaps you can resolve the permission issue first so that it will be easier for us to investigate on the issue. Hope you understand.

hi Ezrul

OK I am trying to get a more permanent solution to this silly login situation:

http://stackideas.com/forums/new-way-better-hoster-but-ip-probelms

In the mean time I will include my FTP details here.
I guess that you could add your IP address to the .htacess file
And then login.

thank you for your patience on this

best

Paul

ps you were obviously getting my FTP details from some where in the depths of the SI system.
These FTP details are no longer up to date.
Could you kindly update them the details, below

thanks again

hi Ezrul

Please note that I have disabled the members page until this works.
i.e. to trouble shoot, in the back end you need to go to Menus/Mainmenu and activate it.

thanks

Hello Paul,

I am sorry for the delay of this reply.

I will wait for the following http://stackideas.com/forums/new-way-better-hoster-but-ip-probelms forum post to resolved first so that I can check on your issue directly from your backend settings. Hope it will get resolved soon

Hi Erzul

Thanks. For keeping an eye on this.
Believe me I am not one to complain but I have just written the following to Siteground:

Hello Siteground Team

I appreciate the speed of your service but this is still broken. Weeks later!!!

I´ve posted 10 times.
I have had 4 different people look into this.
And I am know the wiser.

THE PROBLEM JUST GETS WORSE!

******************************************************************

http://finalbug.net/administrator/

NOW Gives me:

403 - Forbidden Error
You are not allowed to access this address.
If the error persists, please contact the website webmaster.

******************************************************************

I would be very grateful if we could put this thread to sleep.
I hate re-opening it over and over again…
It is boring.

There have been half a dozen “fixes” so far and none of them have worked?

a) As admin I need to be able to access my site
b) I need other admins to be able to access the site
c) I need the Stackideas team to be able to access the site
d) I need normal registered users to be able to access the front end of the site.

This problem breaks my “members” site.
And renders 5 years of work unusable!
I am the last person on this planet to complain but this is just beyond silly!

Hello Paul,

I've done some global search and maybe this could help, https://www.gavick.com/blog/joomla-when-youre-not-able-to-access-administration-panel . If it does not solve it, then we shall wait for your webserver respond.
