Hi there, This must be an easy question for you
I recently noticed under stream > comments .jpeg is not an included default format. Is there any reason why you wouldn't include this format as factory default in Easysocial?
Anyway, I'd like to know where do I go to include it?

Cheers!
Hi there,

It seems that .jpeg extension is no longer used nowadays as this file extension is used for older windows. But, regarding this, we will consider this to be added in the future whether possible . Thanks for your understandings.

Hi Abdul, You're misinformed
.jpeg and jpg are basically the same format. There's just two file extensions for the same thing.
.jpeg is still widely used and it's very simple to include .jpeg as well as .jpg.

I need to add .jpeg so would you kindly help with doing this?

Cheers!

Hi there,

I have made some temporary fixes regarding this issues. Can you replace attached file at this path ...\media\com_easysocial\scripts\site\comments\form.js and compile your site on your front end, logged in and run link below

https://axus.com/index.php?option=com_easysocial&compile=1&minify=1

Please give it a try and see how it goes

Okay Abdul, did that and after running link got:
500 No HTTP response from compiler server.
Upload extension error for .jpeg
Went to backend and tried compiling there and file extension error still.
Would you have another look at the form.js file?
When you resend it please .zip it as the .js opened a new web page.

Cheers!

Could you turn on development mode instead and see if you could upload these jpeg files? If it works with development mode, we'll just include this fix on the next release.

Unfortunately, it didn't work. In dev mode the comment field camera icon did not function so couldn't choose an image. In production mode - file extension error.

I've allowed .jpeg in the backend for Photos and that of course works just fine. I don't recall having this issue with .jpeg in the comments field in 1.4x...

Anyway, let's see what you can come up with for a solution

Cheers!

Hi there,

I have made some modifications and compile works fine now. Can you try to run given URL above? But i would advice to turn off your cloudflare or purge cache as your cloudflare might still caching previous items. Or maybe you can provide us with your cloudflare account for further check regarding this?

Hi Abdul, unfortunately it did not work same file extension error and some JS stopped working. Example, couldn't use FB or Twitter logins.

So here's what I've done.
CF is in dev mode. It's good for a couple of hours after which it turns back on automatically
Cloned copy with broken JS to /ab1111
Reinstalled backup to root with time stamp Nov 11, 01:30 GMT

If you'd like to continue working on the clone in /ab1111 or let me know how you like to proceed.

Cheers!

Good job Abdul.

I'll just get that clone back to root and now completed

Oops! I was a bit too quick on the trigger and had marked this ticket resolved, which I've now marked as unresolved.

You see I didn't realise ES was still in developer mode. When I switched to production mode I couldn't upload .jpeg anymore (;
And, I've just noticed I can't use FB or Twitter logins anymore either as they're showing void JS.

As this is a live site, what needs to be done now or within the next say 30 minutes? Or will I need to reinstall a backup again?

Cheers!

PS. ES is still in dev mode as this allows use of FB and Twitter logins. However, it's going to be slow...

Hi there,

Honestly, i really doesn't know what happens to your site and why your site are not compiling to the latest compiled version of your site. I would like to suggest you to wait for our latest version as we going to release them later this day. This issues have been fixed and included in our latest version. Maybe you can test them on this issues after this update/upgrade. Thanks for your understanding and sorry for any inconvenience.

Hi there,
I see this is work in progress. I'd just like to bring your attention to I tested uploading a large .jpeg. 6.3 mb and surprisingly it processed it showing a preview image. However, after submit just a cross could be seen as shown in screen dump.
What's the max upload size limit for images in comments?

Also you'll see the comment field is not writable. Upon page refresh it's becomes writable. This issue was in ES 1.4x got and got fixed with some hacking. It was in ES beta testing and reported, but not fixed before ES stable release. I do understand you're having difficulties here, it's a browser related issue with IE, otherwise it would be fixed I guess.

Having said that, it still needs fixing

Here's a screen dump.

Cheers!

Hi, It's the weekend, so there's not going to be much done for the next 64 hours at least...
Yes, I've seen and installed the update 2.0.4.
I'll need to stop, retest everything and make sure things are working again. I'll be making notes of those that are not up to standard.

I'll be back

Have an enjoyable weekend everybody.

Cheers!

Thanks for understand

If the upload image issue still persists after you installed the latest version of Easysocial, perhaps you can start a new thread on our forums so we can continuous check on this.

Regarding the IE issue, that is a little bit tricky. Our developer still looking for the solution.

As a gentle reminder, kindly start a new thread if you have any other issue in the future so it will be easier for us to manage your inquiry. I will lock and mark this thread as resolved.
