In a frontpage display, where do I find the settings which govern the information displayed under the post title?
(that is, the "Posted by name, on date, in Blog)
I do not wish to display the name of the blog.

thanks,
G
Hello Gilles,

You can find this in the theme settings The theme settings are available in the back end of EasyBlog under Themes > [Your current theme]

Fantastic! Just what I was looking for Mark.
And... where would I find the setting to display a list of of blog titles (instead of just "Page 1 2 3..." at the bottom of the frontpage layout?
I'm displaying only one full blog article on each page so a nice bottom index would be grand... as in Joomla core.

H Arlex,
Look at the bottom of this J! blog post where it says "More Articles"... This is what I want to do in EB.

Hello Gilles,

If I'm not wrong, this mod_easybloglist.zip module should be meet your requirement, can you try download All EasyBlog Modules from http://stackideas.com/downloads/modules > extract the zip file > install mod_easybloglist.zip
And see how it goes?

Thanks Arlex,
I'm using this already in the sidebar but I really like the J! option of listing the titles at the bottom, along with the page navigation.

Hello Gilles,

Hm, I am not really sure what you mean by J! option of listing the titles as I don't have the link to your site. Can you provide us with the link?

Hello Gilles,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Are you mentioned the J is this "more article" module? Check my screenshot below.

If yes, unfortunately we do not have this similar module.
But what i can suggestion is you can use the Easyblog related post module or blog entry page related post feature, what their purpose is detect which blog post tag match with other post, then the related post will show in your module or your blog entry page, check my screenshot below.

Hope this help.

Hi Arlex,
Thanks.
First, I'm not sure what you mean by "Are you mentioned the J is this "more article" module? Check my screenshot below."

Yes, I'm referring to the list of "More Articles". When I purchased EB for my client, I was expecting at least the functionality and features of Joomla (J!) but with many enhancements. I was not expecting to have features "missing". It's difficult for me to justify my choice to go to EB when I tell them that they can no longer have a list of recent articles at the bottom of the blog, as is included in core Joomla.

Is there anyway to have this feature in EB?
Thanks Arlex!

Hello Gilles,

Sorry for late reply to this,
Hm, let me try to understand you correctly here Gilles. You want to display a list of "blog titles" on the front page of the blog post before the pagination just like how Joomla is displaying it?

If yes, can I have your Joomla backend and FTP access so we can help you install a latest blog post module in your site and display on the front page of the blog ost before the pagination? Please advise.

Yes, exactly Arlex!
Is backend admin access sufficient?
If so, use the account I setup, I just re-enabled it. With this change, any EB Updates won't undo this change, correct?

Hi Arlex, Thanks for trying but...
Oh no... You need to undo some of the changes you made. Here's why:

0. You published the Latest Blogs on ALL pages and this really BROKE the site! see screenshot. I disabled it until you bring things back correctly.

1. Go to the The "Blog" menu (fourth menu from the end). This is the live (non test) Joomla ( not EB) blog and the "Latest blogs" module has been replaced. I need the original one back. I hope you didn't delete it. The test articles are currently appearing for all users. not good.
Until we're ready to make the EB blog live, to replace the current J! blog, we need to only work in the "New Blog test) submenu found under About. This menu is only for super users at the moment

2. Please bring back the sidebar module in the menu "New Blog test" as it was before, with the blog images appearing. My client liked this sidebar module and the way I had it configured which has disappeared.

3. As I had originally asked, I want a list of latest blogs to appear at the bottom of the blog... yes, like in the "blog" menu item... as I had shown in screenshot and as you can see currently in the "blog" menu.

Please do this as soon as you can as the live site is not operating as it used to.
Cheers,
G

Continued from above...

DON"T do a restore to return things as they were as new articles have been published from my client.

Review my original request before doing anything as I think it is quite clear what I need. If not, please ask.
The only area we need to be working on is the test EB area. The J! "blog" menu needs to be returned to the way it was. Hopefully you didn't delete it.

The sidebar module of the EB blog (test) which needs to be returned is the "recent" blog module, which I had configured. Hopefully you didn't delete this one either.

To summarize, once things are back the way they were, all I need added is a list of latest blogs as seen at the bottom of the J! blog menu of the site (4th menu from the end).

If unsure please ask as things are now messed up and work I had done is missing.
Thanks for trying to help,
G

OK... it's in the "Blog Layout" tab of the Blog menu. You'll see a place where it states the Number of Links. It is currently 6.

Hello Gilles,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as it is a weekend for us here.
Unfortunately we do not have similar this section in Easyblog menu item and show a list of "blog titles" on the front page of the blog post before the pagination in current system If this similar section replace to Recent blog post module or Latest blog post module and display on your Easyblog frontpage is it suit with your requirement as before my suggestion?

Thanks Arlex,
I don't know why Stack would remove a feature from the Core Joomla in its implementation of EB. I wasn't expecting this.

two things:
1. I don't understand your english here: "If this similar section replace to Recent blog post module or Latest blog post module and display on your Easyblog frontpage is it suit with your requirement as before my suggestion? "
How can I put those at the bottom before the pagination>

2. Can you please bring back the sidebar module for the "New blog" menu that I had configured please? the one with the thumbnails.

Hi Arlex,
It was taking too long for you to return the site to the way it was prior to your changes. I had to take the time myself and revert it back.

Next question:
I want to add an image to the category. I want this image to be displayed at the top of the blog, before the entries, when someone uses the menu item for my blog of type EasyBlog » Frontpage Blog Layout.
I've tried to use the Joomla Core way of thinking to set this up but I can't get this to work.
Can you provide the steps please?
Thanks,
G

Hello Gilles,

I'm really sorry that delayed of this reply,
Please find your answer in your queries below :
#1. I don't know why Stack would remove a feature from the Core Joomla in its implementation of EB. I wasn't expecting this.
>> Actually that feature is not including in EasyBlog, because the Easyblog and the feature is different with Joomla, but regarding with your requirement, we can provide a hack for you, can you activate that user account so we can access in your backend as well?

#2. Can you please bring back the sidebar module for the "New blog" menu that I had configured please? the one with the thumbnails.
>> I'm really sorry for that, because I remember I just disabled the Easyblog latest blog post module in your site, I didn't touch anything from your "New blog" menu.

>> Yes, you can create a menu item called "Single category layout" so the category avatar will appear on top of the blog and before the entries. See my screenshot below.

Thanks Arlex.
1. That's what I meant. The function exists in J! but not in EB. I don't know why. Might you not consider adding it? We'll live with the way it currently is.
2. Yes, thanks. I found it, just had to adjust the module showing on 'not all pages"
3. OK

Hello Gilles,

You're welcome.
1. That's what I meant. The function exists in J! but not in EB. I don't know why. Might you not consider adding it? We'll live with the way it currently is.
>> I will add this suggestion in our Easyblog request feature list and see how it goes.
>> Can I have your Joomla backend access ? Because when i trying to login, i getting this :
Warning
Login denied! Your account has either been blocked or you have not activated it yet.

2. In frontpage blog layout, how do I remove the blog title and "Recent blog posts"?
>> You can disabled from your backend > EasyBlog > Setting > layout > toolbar > Enable blog headers - NO
Hope this help.

Arlex,
1. As I said, don't worry about it. We'll live without it.
2. This partially worked, the "Recent blog posts" is still present. As mentioned I want to remove this as well.

I find EB's settings challenging to configure as they seem to be all over the place, spread around various areas.
Thanks for your patience and for your help.
