Hi

When I purchased my subscription the wanderers template was included, however I have just looked at it and the zip is empty. I can't find the download in my dashboard can you tell me where I can re download please?

Thanks
hey Michelle,

I am really sorry for the delay of this reply as we are currently having a Joomla conference here in Malaysia and most of the team are involved in the preparation.

I will consult with our sales department regarding this when the week start.

By the way, you can download my attachment here , once you download it, I will remove it from this reply.

Thanks Arlex

This file is empty too? Should I be able to see something if I try to extract the zip as it is saying it is invalid?

Hi guys,

You can download Wanderers by navigating to Wanderers' app page here http://stackideas.com/apps/item/3111-wanderers

Alternatively, you can navigate to http://stackideas.com/apps and click on the "My Apps" button.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

when I try to download Wanderers it seems that I have to purchase it and not to be free for subscribers anymore. The first time I downloaded Wanderers I could do this in my Dashboard. Is this correct ? Shouldn't I be able to download it for free in the Apps Directory?

Kind regards
Jean

Hey Jean,

I am sorry that delay of this reply,

Initially, the idea was to provide the template for free. However, the template is a little bit trickier than we thought and providing it for free will not justify the hard work our developers have put into. Kindly take note that the payment is only one-time, meaning that once you’ve purchased it, we will provide support for it for lifetime; you won’t have to renew it again.

Hey Alex, I think what Jean is saying is that when you make a purchase and something is included in that purchase, then it should be included for at least the lifetime of your purchase. This is a basic principle of contracts.

After all, that is part of what you purchased even if it is "free." You made a purchase based upon the value of having this free item inclusive. In the case of an active subscription, that would be the life of the current subscription at minimum. So it seems to me that anyone that had an active subscription at the time that you made the choice to go to a paid model should at least have updates through the life of that particular subscription, if not for lifetime. For those who were involved in the evolution of the product such as beta testers there might be some additional benefits/incentives.

Let's be clear, I fully agree that your support is worthy of payment. However you offered a model that was an incentive to customers to purchase, so the right thing to do is to honor that at least through the term that customers did make a purchase. In retail, not doing so is known as a "bait-n-switch" tactic. I don't think that is what was intended, but it could easily appear that way to customers.

Hi Arlex,

actually I am a bit disappointed that you did not make this official news with a mail or a blog post stating that you are going to make it chargeable. Like Paul said, I had the impression that if I subscribe with a Pro subscription I would have this Template for free.

Kind regards
Jean

Hey guys,

We actually provided Wanderers for free initially and it has always been there on the dashboard. However, the number of requests for support and customization has gone beyond the scope of our support and we would not be able to offer this for free any longer.

We have actually announced about this on our blog post at http://stackideas.com/blog/eid-mubarak-from-stack-ideas

Hi Mark,

I went ahead and purchased both Templates today. Also am I apologizing for my post above, I somehow must have missed that Blog entry. I have to say you guys deserve every penny for your hard work and support. I did not want to make any problems or be rude in any way.

Jean

Hey Jean,

Thank you very much for your support and don't worry about the post Jean. Our intention was to provide them for free but the number of support requests we receive is just too much for us to digest and we had to start charging a small one time premium charge to ensure that we are able to get more support / template designer in.
