To change the folders location to go site/administrator/index.php?option=com_easysocial&view=settings&layout=form&page=storagepath
Change it to the desired location. ES does not use a folder base (as far as I understand), so if you swap to /gallery for example, the old images would still use their old paths because the paths are stored within the database.

If you have changed it to a different folder, you need to manually rename your folder.

I asked it because my "photos" folder disappeared from my FTP, so I thought Easysocial had changed the storage operation.
Bizarre this disappearance ...
Anyway thank you to Stackideas, I've changed my host reading one of your recommendations for "siteground" which is very effective and makes backups very very helpful
