When enabled JOOMLA smart search index. Error occurred....

Okay i not sure if this is an issue with Joomla smart search or not and it seems like when you passing '*' ( asterisk ) as the language, and when you switch to chinese language, the smart search not able to search the content.

I've added a fix on your site and now the search can be search chinese content even when you switch the language to chinese. Please see:

I leave the selected language to chinese for now so that I can verify again.

Just remember one thing, whenever you switch language, please go to your Joomla backend under smart search and purge the content and then re-run the index process

Hello peiyouliao,

Does this works with the Joomla search? EasySocial uses the same exact search algorithm as Joomla Smart Search does. If the Smart Search is unable to detect the contents, then we wouldn't be able to detect it either. Try to run the re-index again in Smart Search and see if that works?

I think there's a problem with your database table collation. Are they all on the same charsets?

Hello,

If Joomla smart search cannot search the content, this will be the same in EasySocial as EasySocial actually using smart search to search the items. Anyway, can you pass me your phpmyadmin access so that I can check the table collation of your Joomla smart search tables. Based on the error message you posted, it seems like something is not right with your Joomla db tables.

The issue is actually from the smart search i think so can you pass me the following item so that I can investigate your issue further?

1. Joomla backend admin access,
2. your ftp account and,
3. your phpmyadmin access

Please advise.

I've tested, making it impossible to search Chinese language because of language switching at the front desk!!

If I transferred back English language. function is completely normal


Search for other language is no problem

Such issues need to be addressed

If you want the search function properly

I was forced to want to change the system is set to English (or any language can search)
